Welcome aboard everyone and thanks for joining the Post WWII & Expansion Franchise Dream League. It filled in near record time of just 4 hours! I've set up the Post WWII & Expansion Franchise Dream League as a private league and have PMed everyone the password, so check your private messages. Please join ASAP. You need not draft a team to join. Use any team name. You can change it to your franchise name once you select a franchise. I'll post the draft order here once someone runs a randomizer, so check back often. Once the draft order is determined and all managers enter the league, the person with the first pick can select his franchise, draft his entire team and select a ballpark. Once he is finished, the manager with the second pick will select his franchise, draft his entire team and pick a ballpark that has not been previously selected. The process will be repeated until all 12 teams are picked.
The rules reagarding player eligibility are as follows:
Player eligibility: Any Post WWII or Expansion card, regardless of year and team, based on a Major League Baseball season, of any player who played for the franchise as set forth in
http://www.baseball-reference.com/ . That means appearing in at least one game for the franchise. He does not need to have a card for that franchise as long as he played for the franchise. NeL cards are not eligible, as they are not based on an MLB season.
Examples: Pete Rose played for the Reds, Phillies and Expos during his career. Any of his cards are eligible to be used by those franchises; Pedro Martinez played for the Expos, Dodgers, Red Sox, Mets and Phillies during his career. Any of his cards are eligible to be used by those franchises.
Eligibility exceptions: Willie Mays is eligible only for the Giants; Hank Aaron is eligible only for the Braves; Duke Snider is eligible only for the Dodgers; Yogi Berra is eligible only for the Yankees; Ron Santo and Billy Williams are eligible only for the Cubs; Frank Thomas and Joe Horlen are eligible only for the White Sox.
Have fun and good luck! - Bernie
