OK - no more questions or comments - we'll just assume I and all the other participants know everything about this league and format and smooth sailing from here! :?

Those two league messages are from me. I guess they cannot be retrieved until SOM properly formats the league. The second message is merely a copy of the Draft Matrix for future reference, so that it can be copied and pasted from league mail for use in subsequent leagues, without having to go back to the message forum to find it.

The first message is below:

Thanks for joining the Post WWII & Expansion Franchise Dream League. I've emailed SOM with a request that they put us in proper draft order and in the proper divisions. Once that occurs, 1787 can draft his entire team (it looks like he has chosen the Dodgers) and we can get the draft underway. For those of you who have never before been in a dream league, SOM modifies the live draft to allow one manager at a time to choose his entire team, so once SOM places our league in the proper format, 1787 can pick his entire team within our league on the SOM site. There is no clock involved and our league won't start until the Monday after all managers have completed their rosters.

It really is a very simple process. I expect that we will have a few minor growing pains along the way because of some managers' inexperience with this concept, but once things get underway, problems should be minimal.

Lastly, just a reminder to leave enough cap space to draft your entire team. It is best to have a good idea of who you want on your roster before you draft. Note that if, while you are drafting your team, you change your mind on having a player on your roster, you will have to draft 25 players before SOM will allow you to drop the player.

There are a few managers here who have been in several such dream leagues, so if you have a question or encounter a problem, just ask, and we'll get it worked out.

Good luck and have fun. - Bernie

One point on this type of draft:

I learned the hard way to fill out a roster of 24 under the cap before settling on my final team. If you put all the big ticket items on your roster and go over the cap before you fill out a 24-man roster, you'll get stuck. Add a few cheapies to fill out your roster, then go back and make the changes once you have 24.

These last 2 messages -- fr "Andy" and "BD" are completely confusing. Please don't be coy and explain fully. What do you mean by not being able to drop players or change your mind while selecting players? What do you mean by "learning the hard way"? What are you guys talking about? If I have the Braves, for example, and I want to change my 3B fr Chipper Jones to Eddie Mathews, for example, or vice versa, what's the problem with doing that while I'm picking Players?

And why put Messages into a League mail when there's not Tab for that League to read the Mail? What's the point?

Lastly, why are there those few eligibility exceptions when an earlier Rule states a player only have to have played one game for a Franchise of the past?

Simple: When you "draft" your team off the free agent list, if you aren't careful and spend your cap before you fill out your roster, you will be unable to drop and add any more players. Pick a roster to get to 25, THEN tweak that roster as you see fit.

In the league room, the draft order is listing me as in 'first' position, but the randomizer has me in 'position 12'. I'm totally confused. Am I supposed to be doing something now with drafting?

Here is what is posted in the league:The Live Draft time has not been set by the Commissioner.

- When the draft time is set, all members of the league will be notified by email.
- The turn duration for the draft is currently set to: 120 seconds.

Draft order:
1. Hoot & Holler Rednecks
2. Brooklyn/LA Dodgers
3. Boomtown Rats
4. Twos the Season To Be Jolly
5. Maui Christmas
6. Andys Team
7. The Wrong Stuff
8. Dream League Starter Team
9. River City Birds on da Bat
10. Dream on Sleepy John
11. Chesapeake Harriet Tubmans
12. Go Go Sox
