1950s, 2000's mystery sets

I would really love to see those. Especially 2000s.

Am I the only one?

From a logistical standpoint, given that there were only 16 major league teams during the 50s, it would probably be necessary to expand the "decade" to the 1946 season in order to have a viable player set.

Much as I hate to admit the passing of years, yeah, it's time to start considering a 2000s Mystery set. Compared to the 1950s, there are almost twice as many major league teams per season, so that would be quite a large player set. That would probably lead to a lot more players getting dropped during the course of the season.

As opposed to a Mystery set for the 50s, I would much rather see one of the 50s seasons be released as a single season.

I have actually done some research into a mystery card set prior to the 1960s. As kenhutcings noted there are not enough players in the 50s so the set would need to be expanded a little further back. A set maybe called the War Years set (1941-1959) would work great. War Years meaning both WW 2 and the Korean war. It is amazing how many players missed years during both wars. You could also just do 1945-1959 and call it something like the Boomers league (aka Baby Boomers).

I would be happy with any mystery set but to me the fun of learning about new players of this proposed War Years set would be more interesting than using players we already know about from the recent past.

I would be happy to share my player spreadsheet I came up with with anyone who may be interested......INCLUDING STRAT!!!

Yes, I have suggested the 2000's Mystery Card set a couple of times, but there didn't seem to be much support. I would still love to see it. It would be a nice addition to the Mystery League 2017.

I would favor the War Years. For one thing, I have already played the 2000's(and 1999). Of course, the Mystery Card would add a new dimension but I would like to play with some less familiar guys if given a choice. Although a 2000 Mystery Card set might attract some of the younger audience, as it's a bit less ancient history. And, if I recall correctly, there was some first class slugging going on back in the 2000's. I guess I'd gladly play any new Mystery Game.

I would also love to see a 40's and 50's mystery set. By combining the decades there should be more than enough players to make things very interesting. I'd be a little interested in a 2000+ set but anything new would be a great addition. Lastly, LMBombers, I'd be very interested in seeing your spreadsheet. What's the best way for us to connect?

I've asked for 2000's set, 40's / 50's combined set, 20's / 30's combined set, and 1890 - 1919 set in the priority order. Also, asked for more players in the current mystery sets, so that 24 team leagues can be easily formed, which is a preference for many people and more income per league for SOM. The answers so far have been that there are other priorities and the work behind forming the amount of cards for a mystery league is much harder, but the 2000's league must have a high demand. I understand the SOM answer and the reasoning, but as a mystery league fan...........c'mon, Strato.

I would like to see new Mystery sets... Also it would be cool if you could combine the 50s,60s and 70s,80s and 90s...

Think of one big post war Mystery set going all the way up to the 1980s.

I'd like the 50"s as it was before my time and it would be fun to play with unknown guys. I ALSO like the combination idea. Maybe they could do something like you can do in ATG where you create your own draft set? Come to think of it, why don't they do that know?
