Happy Holidays. Please read these rules, do your research, then sign up below.
LEAGUE SETTINGS
12 teams, $110 million salary cap
DH
5% drop penalty
Frenzy (no need for waivers)
YOUR PLAYERS
Each manager must play the entire season with players from only one, unique year. For example, if you sign up to play as “1948”, you may only draft and use ATG cards from the 1948 season (1948 Joe Dimaggio, 1948 Satchel Paige, etc.).
NeL is not a year.
If a player is carded for two or more chosen years, then those managers are in competition for that player. For example, if one manager is 1948 he can use 1948 Joe Dimaggio, while if another manager is 1939 he can use 1939 Joe Dimaggio; so it’s up for grabs which manager successfully gets Joe Dimaggio’s card for their respective year.
In order to comply with Strat-O-Matic roster rules, be sure to choose a year with at least 2 catchers and at least 3 pure relievers. If you mess this up, you must fill any omission with player(s) costing exactly $0.50 million from years not chosen by other managers. Remember, there’s a chance some of your players are eligible for other team years, so you might not get them.
Hint: Start by downloading and saving the Excel spreadsheet (located here:
http://365.strat-o-matic.com/img/xls_sa ... c_atg8.xls). Then, you can sort or filter by player year.
YOUR BALLPARK
You must use a ballpark from your year. If there is no ballpark from your year, you must choose a ballpark from the closest year available. For example, if you choose 1939, you must use only players from 1939 and you must select Shibe Park 1938 (as there are no 1939 stadiums, and this is the only 1938 or 1940 stadium).
YOUR TEAM
Your team name MUST include the four-digit year you’ve chosen, so that everyone can easily tell who’s who in the standings. For example, acceptable team names are “1929 Great Depression”, “1969 Pretty Boys”, or “Best of 1989”. Unacceptable team names are “Single Year Bashers”, “Spirit of 41”, or “Birmingham Clowns”.
Divisions will be grouped chronologically. That is, the 4 most recent years will be in the East and the 4 oldest years in the West.
