As we come down to the final 9 games of the season, it's uncharacteristically unbalanced. Barring a collapse by a team along with a hot streak by another, the playoff teams are pretty clear with only the seeding to be determined....

East
Stoney has a three game lead on the number one seed and has long clinched the division.

Central
After sweeping Hawk last night Smokey has a 7 game lead with 9 to play and has no games with Hawk and only three with Dale who is 8 back.

West
Falcon and JTJ are neck-and-neck with JTJ holding a 2 game lead after taking 2 of 3 last night. They still have three remaining in Falcon's park so nothing is decided yet. JTJ *does* have the tie breaker between the two so Falcon will have to gain 3 games to take first. Falcon has six remaining at home, JTJ only 3.

WC
Falcon has a six game lead over Hawk and Spider for the final spot. Spider *does* have three remaining with Falcon so with a sweep he would still have a good shot.

Stoney has a 4 game lead for the #1 seed.

Smokey has clinched as he holds the tie breaker with Dale

JTJ has clinched at least a playoff spot and continues to hold a 2 game lead for first place over Falcon. The two have a series in Falcon's park. JTJ needs to win at least one and a series win will clinch first for him. A sweep for Falcon would put him in first by a game with three to play.

Well, we got the one we *had* to have (whew), but fell short of clinching the division. The magic number is 2. I'm glad to be home, but we're not taking this series lightly.

Stones has clinched the #1 seed.

The playoff four are set, the only thing that remains is who will be the WC/West Champ and who will have the #2 seed.

Well, we got lucky enough to sweep Spider because Falcon swept Semper! We actually only needed two, but nice to be on a little hot streak. We didn't do well against Smokey in the regular season, but we're hoping we can turn it around in the playoffs.

A visibly upset Pylons manager William Faulkner has confirmed that Travis Shaw sustained what is being called an outer body injury in their game 162 10-4 victory over the Deplorables. Shaw, Pylons' only LHB, with 48 HR and 110 RBI, was drilled by an errant David Price dice-roll in the 1st inning. When asked why he didn't sit Shaw in a meaningless game such as this, Faulkner only replied, "Shut-up!", and then mumbled something about HAL and an anatomically impossible action.

Shaw will miss the first 6 games of the semi-finals against Phanatics.
