I don't care what a guy's numbers are, if I find out he is on his worst card I will dump him immediately . I have done this before with my absolutely favorite player in a set.

I am just the opposite....I always draft with the thought of possibly getting a players worst year...and if I get it, I adjust my lineup accordingly....I rarely drop a player in the mystery leagues using this strategy....and if I get his great card that is a bonus. I would rather play with all my salary rather than make 30 player changes and play 8-10 mil under the cap. That's just me, I know there are lots of folks out there that make adds/drops everyday. all in how you wanna manage. I have noticed that teams that make the fewest moves usually do well. But, on the other hand I have seen some managers make a lot of moves to strengthen their team and it works. regardless, it is fun to try different strategies, and it makes the mystery games fun....Bring on the 50's....lol

You misunderstand me sirs. I never want to cut players, I try to make as few moves as possible. However, if I know for certain a player is on his absolute worst card, I don't care if he is hitting .420, I will cut him, unless there is no one better or it is late in the year.

I did this with a 1980s Rod Carew that was batting over .420. Of course someone picked him up and he slumped..It is all about getting the best value for your money and paying top dollar for a crappy card is not how you win...... The are a handful of players in the 70s and 80s who can be used on their worst card, but that list is very slight. .

I would keep Wes if he was doing as good as you say he is, but he is a 70's non-factor, non-draftee. Given his corner spot and the dearth of offense up the middle, he's useless unless you catch his big year and it's really even not worth trolling to see if you can get lucky.

Past performance should not be an indicator when you have accurate knowledge of which card the player is on. Using a mediocre player's worst card just because he starts out hot is not a good formula if you want to win at this game.
