Re: NLD 43 - Yep, that's right 43 Live Drafts!

Deep In The Gap's Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw combined forces to blast GM Spider and manager Kit May for the lack of offensive support for the NLD 43 season. Both Greinke and Kershaw have demanded that they be traded to any team willing to sign at least two hitters better than Cole Gillespie at getting on base.

Spider responded, "Bitch, bitch, bitch. They get paid the big bucks to keep guys off base. Almost three runs per game should be enough for Kershaw to win 20 - and we got Zack his wins."

Shaw, Pylons' only LHB, with 48 HR and 110 RBI, was drilled by an errant David Price dice-roll in the 1st inning. When asked why he didn't sit Shaw in a meaningless game such as this, Faulkner only replied, "Shut-up!", and then mumbled something about HAL and an anatomically impossible action.

Shaw will miss the first 6 games of the semi-finals against Phanatics.

Wow, that's a tough break. I didn't realize Shaw put up those kind of numbers for you in that park!

Yeah, you got him all of 2.9 runs per game, what the heck does he want!

Well, playoffs start tonight. We didn't do well against Smokey so we're worried about that. We do like most of the pitching matchups (except when Syndergaard is starting) but that doesn't mean all that much in a short series.

Well, as predicted, the matchup that scared me, Syndergaard, was bad for me....wait...what? Oh we shelled him, but Archer got outpitched by Kazmir. Yep, just like I called it! Never forget it's a dice game!

We knew we were in trouble in game one when it started like this:

Code: Select all
0  J.Kipnis 4-6 Walk b-1   F9
0 1  M.Trout 3-7 Walk 1-2 b-1   F9
0 12  B.Wallace  Wild Pitch 2-3 1-2   F9
0 23  B.Wallace  Wild Pitch 3-H 2-3   F9

After an out, Donaldson got their third walk of the inning but, amazingly enough, they only got the one run!

More craziness in my series with Smokey. First game, Gibson and Martinez, he blasts Gibson and RPs for five HRs, but the key blow is losing Belt for 8 games (i.e. the rest of the series plus) when we're facing all hard RHSP. :( One weakness we have is no LHB on the bench so we'll have only 4 LHP against Morton. At least most of his pen is LH.

Game two with #4 SPs Volquez and Fernandez facing off and, of course, we get a pitcher's duel,of sorts. Neither SP lasts past the sixth. Den Dekker missed a pair of 1-12 BPHR including one that would have been a granny and I figured it wasn't meant to be. However, after we went through our whole pen, we ended up with Narveson facing Taylor in a 4-2 game with two on. At least Taylor wasn't going to hit a HR off of Narveson (cuz he's weak), and he ended up striking out off of his own card.

All tied at two. Archer against Morton next. Normally I'd like this match up, but without Belt and with the way this series has gone, who the heck knows?

Meanwhile Stoney is up 3-1 on Falcon, winning two in Falcon's park.

Bats came alive last night on the road. Now it's time to sweat out the game 7 victory.

LOL. Seems to be the way it works many times..... It's sure looking like Smoke and I are heading for 7.

No 7 gamer for Stones as he advances.

Well, we got one we had to have with Kazmir against Lester in game 6 and Syndergaard looming in game 7. We got to Morton for a 7-2 lead and then had to hold on as Trout came to the plate as the winning run in the bottom of the 9th!

With only Narveson and Smith available in the pen, we needed Archer to go deep and he pulled it off against a very good hitting team.

Van Slyke, subbing for Belt went 3-3 , but predictably also stunk it up at 1b with a pair of errors and a single allowed. The fielding we expected, we got lucky with the hitting.

Need one more to advance and I don't suspect it will be easy with Syndergaard and Kazmir coming up in our place.
