Guys, I wanted to explain the scenario around Benitendi now that he has been picked. I noticed on Tuesday night that Hawk had not promoted him. I sent Hawk an email asking him if he wanted to amend his transactions to include him in the promos, and I did not get a reply.

In past years I might have nudged an owner again in this situaton but quite honestly I just don't want to put in the effort anymore, and I need owners here to be mostly self-sufficient & on top of things or be ok with stuff like this happening. That is also a reason I want to shift more to text messaging for communication in this league, especially for 1-1 communications, so that we can have more dialogue and less one-way communication. My take is that email is just not efficient for dialogue, it's efficient for information-sharing to a group, so if you have not done so yet, please do send me your mobile number.

I saw him on the available list, but looked back at the old prospects list and saw Benny there, so had him written off. This AM I saw he was no longer there, so went bonkers, and hoped he would make it to me somehow at Number 6; I just somehow missed the "time limit" in Round 1 so only got to check after I finished class..... Some of us CANNOT check our text messages during the day, since our phones are off. Others, I know are different....

I AM AFRAID I TOTALLY MISSED THIS FIRST ROUND TIME LIMIT THING. Sorry I am working for a living and your email arrived at 11 something in the middle of class, so I just saw it and found I had already been skipped twice!

Ouch. Not protesting, but just saying I wish that had been clearer, since we only got the rosters updated last night.

Wasn't gonna happen. Was SHOCKED he was there for me this morning as I thought for sure Terry would snag him. Of course he wasn't with me long, Smokey made me the proverbial "offer I couldn't refuse" and qksilver came close to doing the same. I also know that Smitty was prepared to take him right behind me if I had gone a different route, so there was no way he was going to drop to you, Ted.

Proverbial slip of the lip--- I had two people after me pick before me. I stand corrected-- not skipped twice, only once, but leapfrogged by 2. They were in their rights to do it, just that I had missed the first round time limit and had seen just the first two picks on the board when I went off to work.

We'll see if Benny can truly make for the young killer B's of Bosox dreams. I kind of liked the comparison to Tony Conigliaro, though I think that was going too far last fall, but we shall see. Smokey's got the man now.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that there would be a time limit for Rd. 1. This is the first time I've seen it. But when the drops are in it's time to get it going. Everyone knows the draft is approaching. I hope the idea spreads.

Now we seem to have lost Craig-- CRAIG, please come back, we can work these things out. It is really difficult to run one of these Leagues and our LeaPre here has kept us going many a year...

If this is about the clock, in Dave's defense the draft thread's first post is from 6 days ago and says that the clock will start on Day 2 at 10am. The start was delayed but we had 24+ hours to check in with no clock with email and thread notices.
