This has been my biggest disappointment since I started playing on-line--the ballpark HR ratings and the clutch ratings are a detriment to the game---I complained about Turner field a couple of years ago when it leaned to the LH hitter for HR's. It was the exact opposite---only because Atlanta had a few LH power hitters at the time was it rated that way.

At the time few seemed to care--glad to see I'm not alone in this respect.

It's time for this feature to be corrected--Stadiums should be rated according to the way the really are and left that way every season---Coors is obvious, Yankee stadium is obvious for LH, Turner (now gone) was obvious to a lesser extent for RH.

If 3 RH hitters hit 50 HR in Yankee Stadium one season---it should show on their cards--don't alter the stadium--it's like the law of gravity changes every season and I always thought it was idiotic.

Alright Joethejet, how did the Petco lefty HR number get to 12 last season if from 2010-2012 only 30% of homers at Petco came from left-handed hitters? Then doesn't that mean righties hit 70% over that period? Where is the evidence of that on Strat stadiums parameters? What was the Strat Petco HR number for lefties from 2008 and 2009? It must have been 19!. But I don't think that was the case. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, I'm aware that the Padres moved in the fences. But the actual HRs hit does not reflect Strat stadium numbers. How could they? Remember: if lefties are hitting 30 % (from 2010-2012) then righties had to have hit 70%. Unless I'm missing something. And that's not reflected in Strat during the 2013-2015 Strat seasons. The opposite is true.

It doesn't make sense.

I believe ballpark homeruns for stadiums ate based off opponents average over 3 years

Fred, I don't think you can look at the total numbers of HR"s hit by L or R for ballpark factors. Wouldn't it be more like HR % for lefties (HR's divided by AB's) compared to righties?

Oh, don't misunderstand, I'm on board with the fact that SOM does a lousy job with parks. I don't think they adjust it for the home team. I think clearly they do not. There's no way parks should change as quickly or as often as they do if they were doing this properly.

Someone just asked if they had moved in the fences in Petco and, in fact, they had! Same with Citi in NYC. Both moves made the parks more hitter friendly.

But, yeah, I don't think they are hewing to the stats very closely with their ballpark effects.
