As the 2016 Championship will be commencing soon, it's time to start thinking about the 2017 Tour, and therefore,Tour commissioner.
I was lucky enough to have had JPav lay the groundwork for me last year, so stayed on point and kept those same rules in place in order to start maintaining consistency year over year. As commish, I also excluded myself from the tournament, in order to eliminate any potential conflicts of interest. I also tried to be as minimally vocal throughout, thinking that would eliminate a lot of unnecessary, or distracting, arguments about seemingly insignificant issues. Perhaps by total coincidence, that was achieved.
Now, I can tell you that while the actual role is not a difficult one, it does involve a lot of tedium, and the hassle of chasing down managers that aren't exactly prompt at loading their teams by specified dates. And I was severely bummed about not competing (other than serving as a sub when needed)...sort of left me feeling like an outsider to the whole Tour. Fortunately, JPav was, and still is, extremely diligent in double checking totals, answering questions, and being a constant presence throughout. Again, I can't thank him enough for all his help.
So as you, we, all start moving towards the Final 2016 Championship season, and the new set rolls out, if anyone has an interest in serving as this year's commish, please speak up now.
Thank you!
