It has been awhile since we attempted this. I think I have a way to make it work.
Rules:
100 Mil / DH / 5-10-20 Drop
Your starting lineup (excluding pitchers) defensive range must total 25 or higher. Each player counts at his lowest defensive rating at any position. For example, Zack Wheat is rated as a 4 at all his positions except for RF, where he is a 2. Therefore, he would count as a 2 toward defense no matter what position he plays.
All bench players must be rated no better than a 3 at any position they play.
Here's the kicker. Let's say you want to make a late inning "defensive" replacement by taking out Miguel Cabrera (4 at 3B) and replace him with Blondy Ryan (3 at 3B). I say whoop-t-do. Go ahead. You mean you're gonna take Miggy out of the lineup and replace him with Blondy effing Ryan? In a league where lots of runs are scored and huge rallies will be common? Be my guest. Also, if Cabrera gets hurt for 3 games, I say go ahead and let Ryan play (4 to a 3 which drops your defense to 24). Remember, he's not a starter. Cabrera is the starter. Ryan is a sub. Just remember that all bench players (subs) must be a 3 or higher at all defensive positions.
