i feel like you should have to cut down before the prospect draft.
that whole "one man's trash is another man's treasure" seems to apply here.

Yes, because this way you're preventing the rest of the league from drafting the cut prospects until the next year.

I'm obviously new to the league so this isn't a complaint just curiousity, but why do we have a 4 round prospect draft at all if we are only allowed to carry 6 prospects?

Rosco. that's the way the original commish (Ghost of Roger Maris/Rick) set up the league. We can vote to change it, but as of now that's the rules.

I hear ya. no clue. I like having multiple prospects, but wasn't my decision/call. with a 24-team league it would get pretty deep I guess.

I agree with those who wondered about the prospect draft as well. If we can only have six prospects it doesn't seem reasonable to draft over the limit and then cut. That would take away some prospects that others could legally draft and keep. We should be held to drafting prospects until we are full or reach our four pick limit. Maybe something to see how the entire league feels in a vote along with whatever other issues need to be ironed out?

I can send that out for a vote as well, but don't know that it would be fair for it to count until next year's draft as some may have made trades based on thinking that it would be "you draft and then cut to get down to 4".

send me a motion/rule to vote on. as of now, it's gonna stay that you can draft your full draft and then cut down to 4 as that's what the rule has.

In the other 24 team league I'm in it's a 2 round prospect draft you can keep up to 10 and you don't have to promote.

Just mentioning as an example, not to necessarily change to that.

Leaving on holidays tomorrow but can/will discuss trades today (tomorrow morning), after that probably not for a couple weeks.

rosco. prospect rules are not changing. if a rule/motion is brought up for vote, it wouldn't go into effect for this draft as some people may have already made deals based on the rules in place now. Not fair to change the rules at this stage. So any rule change to the Prospect draft/status would not go into effect until next draft.
