Franchise Draft

PostSun Feb 26, 2017 1:32 am

Thanks to everyone who joined. I hope this league will be fun, balanced, and run smoothly. I'd like to make this a recurring thing if it turns out to be popular. Please feel free to make any suggestions to improve the concept at any point.

I had a similar comment earlier regarding the TB Devil Rays. There are no drop-down menus for the teams you mentioned, but only a player or two within the ranks of the entire ATG8 list of players. I think all of them, except for David Price and Ben Zobrist of the Rays are pre-1900 players, e.g., Dan Brouthers of the 1886 DTW, Detroit Wolverines ?, is one I was able to locate. Maybe someone else has a complete roster of them for all of our reference?

Yeah, Tampa as well as some of the pre-1900 teams do not have drop downs in the search feature.

Something I don't understand. The Giants include both NY and SF, the Dodger include both Bklyn and LA, the Braves include both Boston, Milw, and Atl....but the A's of Oakland and the A's of Phila are seperate :?: :?: :?: :?:

The A's *franchise* includes the Philadelphia A's of the AL as well as the KC A's. The team listed as "Philadelphia Athletics (1887-1890 Different than the A’s franchise)" is an American Association team that was expelled from the league in 1890. I believe the only player available from this team is Ed Seward, though I could be mistaken.

If you draft the Oakland A's franchise from the AL, you do not get rights to A's players prior to the founding of the franchise in 1901 if there are any.

Ok, that makes sense then. ....I didn't notice the 1887-1890 date. Perfect. Thanks for clearing that up.
