70's keeper league #40 East loading

Oh believe me... I also noticed that Dick Allen was still out there. I really, really, really, really tried to talk myself into taking him... but the combination of the 3B pool usually being thin and that I already had about $22 million committed to my 3 keepers led me to Madlock instead.

I already liked this group of managers as I've competed frequently against most or all of you before... but I like the group even more looking at these draft choices. Some very interesting and strategic selections going on here, and I mean that in the best way possible.

FWIW, when Dick Allen being from Wampum, PA was mentioned earlier... I've driven past Wampum probably a dozen times in my life. It's about an hour north of Pittsburgh (where I grew up) and about 15 minutes south of New Castle, PA, where I had numerous older relatives on my dad's side who we used to go visit. Dad liked driving the back roads: this was before the interstate made it through that area. Wampum may not be the smallest or most desolate looking town that a star MLB player has come out of, but it's certainly in the conversation for it.
