Next addition, a few more high cap cards...

okay,

so last couple of additions seem to have focused on adding franchise and mid level players (which is fine, those are needed for some kinds of leagues);
there have been a few usable high cap guys but not many.

There are more guys that would be very playable at high caps and it would be great to have a good number of these added in the next one.

I think we should strive for a mix of likely prices in each add...something for everyone that way, in theory...

I don't know of a more high cap card than Schupp. He's unusable at 100m or below.....

here are my 2 answers:

1) We haven't been striving for high cap cards the past 2 drafts-- otherwise we'd have more than 3 or 4 usable ones we got in the past 2 addition-- note, these aren't necessarily 3 or 4 GOOD additions, just usable ones.

2) Schupp is way overpriced imo (he should be between Babe Adams and Pedro) and thats what makes him unusable at lower caps more than anything else.
Also thats exactly ONE card.

C'mon guys-- the past 2 additions we've hardly had any good high cap cards while we've had many of the other additions--
so to now say we should be trying to satisfy everyone sort of doesn't seem fair.

What are some more high cap cards that don't replicate players already in the set? I ask this not for argument's sake, but actually for information. Are we talking another Ruth card? I just wonder if there are that many more difference-maker cards that don't replicate players already in the set. Name some ideas that would be what you're looking for.

As a personal preference for me (that's redundant), I want the highest $$ cards to be the Hall of Fame best, not just some nice mix of great numbers. I don't think Ross Barnes has any business being more expensive than Joe Morgan, just as I wish Luis Gonzalez wasn't the 4th most-expensive LFer, bested only by Barry Bonds, Ted Williams, and Al Simmons high card. That ship has sailed, however.

he would have a list of guys who would be appropriate, although for example the 7R cano card (yes we have a not so good cano already) comes to mind right away. As do a few other cards from the 20XX series.

There are definitely more that would work.

Luis gonzalez is another example of a very very overpriced card--
with his fielding and arm hes really only usable at DH for me, and while he has power won't hit for much average--
so think hes at least a mill overpriced.

Bill
