he would have a list of guys who would be appropriate, although for example the 7R cano card (yes we have a not so good cano already) comes to mind right away. As do a few other cards from the 20XX series.
There are definitely more that would work.
Luis gonzalez is another example of a very very overpriced card--
with his fielding and arm hes really only usable at DH for me, and while he has power won't hit for much average--
so think hes at least a mill overpriced.
Thanks, Salty, for the vote of confidence.
Andy is probably right that many of the high-end cards would be from pre-existing names (or are those conditions?), but nonetheless there would be some great additions. The following names are listed strictly for their offensive potential:
1971 Hank Aaron .327/.410/.669 1B/RF
2000 Moises Alou .355/.416/.623 RF/LF
1958 Ernie Banks .313/.366/.614 SS (MVP)
2011 Jose Bautista .302/.447/.608 RF/3B (Aaron winner)
1998 Albert Belle .328/.399/.655 LF
2004 Barry Bonds .362/.609/.812 LF (MVP -- you could also include 1990, 2002 & 2003)
2007 Ryan Braun .324/.370/.634 3B
2010 Miquel Cabrera .328/.420/.622 1B (though a better case could be made for either 2011 & 2012)

So, as to be expected, from a strictly offensive point of view, lots of 1B and corner outfielders. I'll keep checking for middle infielders.
