Thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the highly popular players in ATG1 and see where they are today.
Willie Mays: I never got him until my last ATG1 team and then he had one of his worst seasons in ATG1 (.261/.328/.493 County Stadium '57 ). His cost was $8.49 back then. Today he is at $12.69.
Cecil Cooper: Behind Gehrig ($13.11) and Foxx ($9.31) Cecil had the third best actuals for first basemen. He was $5.08 in ATG1 and costs $6.93 today.
Eddie Collins: First pick on about everyone’s card. He was $4.76 then and, with some adjustments, his card today costs $7.67.
Red Rolfe: I loved him at third. Cost me $5.82 then. At $6.64 today I never use him.
Gary Carter: Out performed all catchers except Campy who was $3.5M more. Then @ $3.98. Today @ $6.98.
Felipe Alou: Either CF or RF he was a bargain. He’s jumped from $5.16 to $6.25.
Hank Aaron: Worth every penny of his $7.01 price. Some changes to his card which costs $ 8.90 now.
Alan Trammel: He was my go to short stop who cost me $5.74. His card today is worth $7.43, again with some adjustments on his card.
There were some highly popular pitchers of course and I hope to get to them later. Meanwhile I’m just glad that frenzies are not that common. I slept through too many. Sleep is always a higher priority to grabbing Lou Whitaker.
