Been playing the board game almost since the very beginning (1963?), played ATG1 a lot, and then somewhere along the line I bailed for a long time, just came back a few months ago. It is truly a different game now

Thanks to Adrian for playing SOM, still lurking and creating Diamonddope. I'm glad we have him here :)

I started playing the online game about 6 months after ATG 1 was launched. Original ID under the TSN platform was Jamesgang.

I checked the archives and still have access to my teams under the Jamesgang name, including my very first team. My first championship was won with a bunch of scrub pitchers who were either extreme righty or lefty balanced. One of my early teams had Randy Johnson win 29 games for me.ATG 1 was when reliever Arthur Rhodes card was priced at 9M plus I believe, same card still in use now for 4m plus.

If i remember correctly ATG started with either 13 or 35 MLB teams to choose players from. In those days i was mostly playing the 2001 game.

Oh yeah Rhodes was still active and part of the 2001 set when he was costing over 9M...

In the beginning there were no waivers, only frenzies. Sometimes the new league and frenzy wouldnt launch right away/ If you wanted a chance at the best available players you had to sit by your computer a good while hitting the refresh button non stop until the frenzy began :D

The frenzies used to always launch at 12 AM ..or was it 11 PM?

Hi Mike! During frenzies, Mike, Hack and I could all consider ourselves lucky that we're on the west coast.

Diamond Dope came along shortly thereafter.
You know, of course, that's why you are a MVP and HOF.

I started back in ATG1 as well. Played under the name of Bbrool. i found the theme leagues we ran much more enjoyable when there was actually a concept of player scarcity and you couldn't always build the perfect team for your park. Probably my favorite player was joe Morgan from that set of players. Loved to build teams around him and Wagner up the middle and setting the table.

I only go back as far as ATG3. Kudos to all of you guys for being around that long. Weasels!

When I started, I was living in Guam so Midnight Eastern was either 1 PM or 2 PM depending on Daylight Saving Time. That was a big advantage.
