12-team deadball league forming

Sort of a franchise league. Each player will choose a deadball franchise on firts come first serve basis. I have the New York Giants. All players must have the db deadball designation and you must maintain at least 15 players from your franchise at all times, unless for some reason that is unfeasible. Other than that you can draft players from other teams or trade players with other teams as long as you maintain the minimum of 15 from your franchise. If you do draft players from other teams in the initial draft, please put them towards the bottom of your list so that the franchise owner will get them if they want them. Stadium should be a deadball era park preferrably but not necessarily your franchise park.

Other than that its no $80 M, no DH, 5% drop, waivers and other standard rules. Please give your team the franchise name or another name that follows standard naming conventions, i.e., place name + "mascot" name...Please no "I can't believe its not butter" or other such nonsense.

If you can contact me or leave a message here to let me know what franchise you want and find if it is still available, that would be good. Or you can take your chances, but please don't take a franchise that somebody else is already trying to draft for.

I don't want to be too negative, but I hope you're aware that there are three problems with the deadball era pitchers data set. The roster rules end up forcing managers to carry some dead weight and not get the most out of the salary cap than you otherwise would in a modern era league.

First, there aren't enough desirable "pure" relievers to go around since every team has to have three. Second, there are only two cheap 5th starters who can't relieve below $1M if you choose to go with a 4-man rotation. And, if you opt for a 5-man rotation, the pickings are pretty slim there as well if more than two or three teams go that route.

Right. But every manager will have to deal with almost the same problems though it will vary a bit according to the franchise they choose. Also, by opening it up to having as many as 10 out-franchise db players on ones roster it mitigates the short-comings inherent to any one franchise's roster.

Part of the fun of this is seeing who can come up with the best solutions to some of the problems inherent in the limitations of an all db league.

If the limitations look too daunting, then I am open to changing the rules a little bit, like maybe allowing more out-franchise players for managers who gets stuck with one of the smaller roster franchises, or I might even be open to allowing one or two non db pitchers on each team's roster, though I'd like to wait until after the draft and negotiate that amongst the managers.
