Yet, I took it from an 85 win team to 100 and then 104 wins. I actually have the best Winning Percentage in the league, not Jfaltour. Just saying

Hero in a half shell! Turtle power!

Also, I could consider moving Charlie Blackmon or Nelson Cruz. Areas of need are 1B, LF OR CF, RF, C and SS.

In case anyone missed this ...

IMO its the prospect drafts that is the biggest problem, I don't care who has Posey, Rendon, or Gallo I still have to face them. What has happen is there seems to be a no no to try to get a better deal for a player. Its like an unwritten rule you can't broadcast, I have a deal in place for player A is there anybody else who would like to make an offer.

I I believe ALK has a major point here. The prospect draft has decimated the free agent draft , which is designed to be the quickest and fairest way to build a team . As alluded to in an earlier post, I drafted Trout and Harper in a free agent draft .
That could never happen today. Most of the breakout rookies have been resting on the shelf a year or three and never see a free agent draft . After two or three years of prospect drafts a leagues loses , to a large degree it's upward mobility, Building through the prospect draft takes years and in truth involves a bit of luck ,whereas the free agent draft is timelier and less of a crap shoot.
And so I would suggest we drop the prospect draft and maybe even drop our accumulated prospects as we go forward. I believe this would reinvigorate the moribund nature of the free agent draft and help to bring about a more competitive league .

I like that idea. It would streamline the rebuilding process.

Interesting discussion...

Willmurr and JF have dominated the league since we began the two-season-per-cardset format, and Meat and The Turtle have joined them recently as consistent winners. If there is interest in improving the chances again for the rest of us, then that might be worthwhile.

Another option would be to also end the supplemental draft. Occurring later in the season, as it does for this league, that also limits the prime cards available in the next FA draft,

I like the prospect draft a lot...

Instead of getting rid of it, maybe we can just eliminate the Trevor Story and Yasiel Puig as "prospects" rule by saying you can only draft someone in the prospect draft if they have have NEVER played a major league game at the time of the draft. That stops people from using prospect picks to take early-season MLB developments.

Another option would be to limit roster size and/or number of keepers.

This league is typical of online Strat keepers, with 40 on active rosters and a minimum of 10 drops.

Offline, though, there are a number of different scenarios. One league I play in, for example, has 28 player rosters with a maximum of 18 keepers. Another has no min or max on the number of keepers -- you draft for the number of slots you wish to fill.

As a "Have", I couldn't agree more with the proposed changes. We have to figure out a way for the have nots to get better, quicker. Having high impact cards already spoken for in the upcoming FA draft completely undermines the notion and purpose of the draft.
We don't necessarily need to eliminate the prospect draft, or prospects, but the most obvious change is don't make that draft order RANDOM. Just like FA draft, it should be worst to first. On top of that, limit the number of prospects you can keep,(MAX 1 or 2,)and possibly further limit the pool to players who not only have never played in majors, but maybe never above AA. That's a "prospect."
Even though I've benefited from it, I also agree the supplemental draft should be eliminated, it essentially is another back door way to snatch guys who emerge or come out of nowhere before they can be in the next seasons FA draft, like Almedys Diaz and similar breakouts.

I'm for limiting prospects to guys who havent played in the majors. And that the draft orders should be from worst to best in the two drafts. No suppl. draft. As for the roster format, I'm not in favour of lowering the number keepers but I wouldn't be pissed if that's the wish of the majority.
