It is much easier when leagues just make the rule no player than has ever been carded. Making this game any more complicated is never good. Making prospects ineligible because of September call ups (or 3 weeks in April) makes no sense to me.

Prospects are much more hyped thanks to the internet and all the sports media outlets. Truth is, no more make it now than before. We're waiting for "the real Tyler Glasnow" here in Pittsburgh. Scary thing is he may be here already.

Maybe I did not understand the question. Posed another way, I would vote for any player never carded.

Also, when you limit the number of prospects a team can hold it makes a difference in the next year's player pool. I believe the ultimate goal is to have a fuller, richer player pool the next week.

glad at least one person saw it the same, and padre's explanation is what I thought, we were changing to true "prospect" no doubt how vote will turn out, so hopefully this helps the have nots twice. so the only thing we changed was no longer random order.

I changes it for a few guys you might consider, such as Tyler Glasnow, Frankie Montos, Jeimer Candelario, Carson Kelly, Hunter Renfroe. None of them can be picked now.

This was always the case in this league...you never could draft a carded player as a prospect. There is no change.

PROSPECT DRAFT

RE-REVISED RULES, effective with the 2016 card set (Not posted on league Google doc yet)
1) We will hold a prospect draft prior to the annual free agent draft, with managers drafting up to 2 prospects per year.
2) The draft can begin as soon as all managers have checked in and posted their drops and promotions for the new season.
3) Prospects are those players who are the property of an MLB team and have not yet appeared in MLB as of the season of the current card set.
4) Draft sequence will be determined by the combined win-loss records of the 2 regular seasons for the previous card set: Reverse order, worst-record first, NFL style.
5) Prospects may be held indefinitely, until such time as a player receives a card, at which point the prospect must be either promoted or dropped -- with managers holding no more than 4 prospects at any one time.
