*** Usage Rule ... Players are capped at 120% of their real life at bats or innings pitched.
We will be policing each other. And you need to police yourself. This rule will be strictly enforced.

At $80 cap I am having trouble fielding a representative team. Comments?

Using a credit, Create a new a brand new ATG pre-ww2 team...
Go into searching free agents to make up an auto draft list...
You can search your franchise availble cards easily...using two "search players by team" tabs ...
All the players there from 1901 to 1946 under two specific search tabs are available to you.
One tab is entitled (in your case) ...PHA-db and the other is entitled PHA-pre

To make sure you are looking at the right players...
Using the PHA-db tab the top pitcher is Bender (1910) at $9.64 and the top hitter is Lajoie (1901) at $10.64.
There are many great Philadelphia cards under this tab to choose from.
Using the PHA-pre tab the top pitcher is Grove (1931) at $9.18 and the top hitter is Foxx (1932) at $13.11.
There are many great Philadelphia cards under this tab to choose from as well.

I haven't done a build using all the Philadelphia Athletics available cards, but just a quick glance tells me I could build a competitive fun $80M team with what is available pretty fast...
Here's Just a quick build...I did it in less than five minutes...
Totally NOT tweaked...

C Cochrane $6.03
1b Foxx $9.46
2b Bishop $4.02
SS Barry $1.96
3b Cross $2.14
LF Simmons $8.85
CF Haas $5.19
RF Miller $4.91

My starting lineup rough template I often use around a $42M starting lineup... allowing money for my hitter bench and backup position players....

My starting pitching rough template I often use around $20 for starting pitchers...

Plank $5.87
Perry $4.15
Morgan $3.93
Krause $3.32
Brown $2.94

My bullpen template I often use around $10 for relievers...

Shores $2.37
Walberg $2.30
Berry $2.18
Baumgartner $2.00
Pate $1.62

Being careful to make sure I have enough at bats and innings since we are going to be enforcing a max player usage rule of 120% hitter at bats and 120% pitcher innings...
You will need to build using about 1500 real life pitcher innings..of which about 1000 to 1100 real life starters innings...400 to 500 bullpen innings...
This quick build exceeds those numbers...I didn't pick any "short inning cards" on purpose.
And I picked all lineup real life regulars...no "short at bat" cards...so I am sure the 120% at bats won't be an issue for this sample squad as well.

Looks like a fun competitive team to me!

Let me know your thoughts after reviewing this post.

If you want to change franchises, that is ok. Still many fun ones to choose from in my opinion.

Hope this post helps you! Let me know?

Regarding the 120% usage rule -- if I use, say, Riggs Stephenson's most expensive. When he gets to 120% of that year's at bats, I could then drop it for his $4 mil card. Is that correct? Thanks (and sorry to post here ...)
