inherent problem w/ response to fridays glitch

PostTue May 30, 2017 11:18 am

I do appreciate SoM's response by offering a free credit to teams who finish within 3 games of the playoffs...

HOWEVER, that doesn't take into account the toll on the bullpens for the next couple of games, any injuries that were greater than the series etc.
Maybe thats the best that can be done, and it is def better than nothing???

SOM failed to live up with the implied and expressed contract that som and owners (customers) automatically agreed too with the purchase and actual usage of the online teams.
The integrity of the games are gone. This happen in 2015 and again in 2016. in 2015 som stated "On Friday night there, was a widespread glitch that unfortunately caused our system to lose track of who pitched in the preceding series and who was supposed to pitch in Friday night’s games. Due to this error, certain pitchers ended up starting games on short rest. We have found the cause of the incident and have implemented precautions that will improve how our system reacts to unexpected occurrences like this, rare as they may be.

the owners including me let it slide in 2015 and 2016 again. A mistake.

please ask the owners in all of your leagues what they think about som response.

I never saw Strat's response — did they send it in email, or is it posted in one of the forums? I did a cursory look and came up empty.

How does the free credit work? I had a team that lost Friday night in Game 7 of the semifinals and earned zero credits. Does that team qualify? I have two other active teams — one with a two-game lead and one that is three games out of the playoffs with the season in the final week and two weeks, respectively — do both teams (whose rotations are now misaligned) qualify for credits if they miss out? Is there a ceiling of one credit per manager?

It seems to me that any manager with an active team or teams has a beef, even if it isn't easily demonstrable how the glitch affected them, because it affected teams league-wide. It seems like the reasonable approach would be one credit per manager with an active team.

Never mind. Just saw the Strat response plastered across the My Teams page. Here it is for those who haven't seen it:

Note about Friday night's starting pitcher glitch:
We deeply apologize for the problem we experienced with starting pitchers on Friday night, and are working on extra failsafes to ensure it doesn't happen again. We are offering the following compensation plan for all managers who had teams that played games on Friday night - if your team eventually misses out on a playoff spot by 3 or fewer games, or your team loses the playoff series it was playing, please e-mail us at that time and we'll grant you a new free team credit.

A more appropriate response than I anticipated.

I think its okay but would be better a few credits accross the board instead of tring to keep track of my active teams and then send an email then. And what about the team that is 10 games out of 1st but 3 games from a wild card?

Im assuming that would be included as its playoffs.

It is better than what one would expect-- but its still kind of like getting your car fixed after someone else hits it--
not quite right.
