He surpasses Bobby Lowe as the guys with the fewest career HR's to hit 4 in a game. Lowe had 71 in 7700 plate appearances spread over an 18 year career. Gennett now has 42 in about 1760 PA's.
But Lowe did it in one of the easiest HR parks in MLB history, when the Beaneaters were forced out of their regular park, South End Grounds, by a fire. During the repairs, they played at the Congress Street Grounds which was a smaller version of the Polo Grounds; foul line distances were under 250 feet and dead center field was under 400.
