2017 Mystery Tourney - Final 12 Voting

How many rounds are we drafting? Or are we going with a time limit - we complete whatever even round we are on after June 23 (for example)?

We haven't normally firmly set the number of rounds. In the past we have had a target of 10-15 rounds on the board drafts (about 1 round per day). Last year I think it was 12 rounds. I agree we should try to wrap up so all teams can be entered by Friday, June 23rd, for a first game of June 26th (if we somehow get through 10 or 12 rounds by Friday, June 16th maybe we end it there). Others input is welcome.

hallerose's comments sound good to me. I think we should end the draft on an even number to complete a serpentine cycle.

I struggled with deciding between Brett and Davis, probably made the wrong decision. I'm especially glad we have a message board draft for the 80s because, IMO, the free agent pool is thin and a bad initial team can be fatal.

I'm glad I'm not in the Central with two former champs and hallerose. All the divisions are tough but at least I've played in enough leagues with sphilipp and JimmyC to know how they'll play. sphilipp manages very similar to me except he has better control of his relief staff (even though he's told me how to do it).

I like as many draft picks live as possible so I vote for 15. I will be travelling in England june 21-july 4 maybe a little spotty but have international data plan.

The consensus in the past is it is fairest to end with an even round. So we probably should aim for 10, 12 or 14 rounds ending in time to enter teams on one of the next 2 Fridays. As a reminder, once we set a final number of rounds any team that has not drafted a stadium will need to pick their stadium in the last round.

12 rounds would be perfect.

Should we do a roll call to make sure everyone knows we are drafting?Possible some dont know live draft ongoing?

I've been checking all day. I'm out of town for the weekend so if it comes to my turn and I don't pick right away don't panic.

If someone can contact anyone who hasn't checked in during the last couple days that would be appreciated. If everyone is engaged, we can knock off 1-2 rounds per day.

Having never participated in a live draft, what happens after the last round? Is it a free-for-all for the rest of the players?
