Once we have a new manager we will draft your other franchise in the TBD order.
1) Pick any available Franchise (in the opposite league)
2) Format is DH
3) Pick the 90's Stadium of your franchise
4) Minimum 2 season commit, ideally we play 2 seasons in each decade rolling with your chosen franchise the whole way.
5) Salary cap $100
6) Trades are allowed but all players involved must be carded to or have played for those franchises

Sorry for the delay, I'm doing some deep analysis of how bad the Cubs and Cards staffs are.

Once we have the clubs I'll answer all the player questions.

After much deliberation, way too much deliberation I've come to the conclusion that all the choices are very rough...so I'm going to be throwing out the first pitch of our 90's season and its a curveball...I TAKE THE ROCKIES!! My apologies to all those clubs that just winced and now have to take the COL Core4+ guys out of their auto draft cards. And Fench...I bestow upon you Mr. Sosa.

And I've probably missed - what is the max roster size?

Using Larry Walker as an example, he played 5 seasons for both MON and COL. If you look at the Googledocs, Rosie's divided all the lists into groups. Walker is in the top group with the other Core4+ players for MON, and in the bottom section with players who are Core4+ for other teams with COL. This is probably because he's got more actual carded seasons for MON.
Leaving Walker in the bottom section in COL was an oversight. Probably because I thought no way in hell anyone would be crazy enough to take the Rockies! I'll provide a separate post on how we are handling shared core4+ players.

What are the rules for drafting players that are Core4 or Core5 for undrafted teams?
They would revert back as if the player had never even played those seasons. So using Walker again, if nobody had chosen MON, he'd have been Core5 for COL. Jaime Navarro is Core5 for the Brewers, but if they aren't selected then the two Chicago teams get to fight over him in the AutoDraft.
Correct, eliminate those yrs tagged with the undrafted teams and what you have left is who can use them. They still however can't be on your auto draft card UNLESS they are also core4+ for your club as well.

What is the max roster size?
We've always used 24, but Rosie will have to confirm that.
YES 24 to start then expansion to 25 at game 130. We MIGHT expand more at 130 depending on the availability of players. TBD after we see how the rosters shake out.

I hope this helps somewhat.

Re: 90s 24 team Mystery- Falcon up

PostThu Aug 17, 2017 1:41 pm

Here's how we are going to handle guys that are Core4+ for 2 teams. By my count the players in question are all listed below...if you come across someone I missed please post here.

I've included Core4+x2 sheets for both batters and pitchers within the 90's Mystery BAL - KC google doc.
Batters:
Larry Walker - MON5 COL5
Rafael Palmeiro - BAL5 TEX5
Omar Vizquel - CLV6 SEA4
Tino Martinez - SEA6 NYY4

Pitchers:
Tom Gordon - KC6 BOS4
Jeff Nelson - NYY4 SEA4
Scott Erickson - MIN5 BAL4
Kirk Rueter - SF4 MON4

Both clubs can auto draft them, highest ranked wins. However, season 2 rights to that player go to the club that didn't get him in season 1, keeper or resigning during free agency by the season 1 club is not allowed. Season 2 club may however trade those rights.

If we were to ever expand out to more than 2 seasons we might treat Vizquel, Martinez, Gordon and Erickson differently.

Batters with more than two affiliated clubs:
Will Clark - TEX5 SF4 BAL1
Steve Finley - SD4 HOU4 BAL1
Wally Joyner - KC4 SD4 CAL2
Mike Stanley - NYY4 BOS4 TEX2 TOR1
Willie McGee - STL5 SF4 BOS1
Lenny Harris - LA4 CIN4 NYM1 COL1

Both Core4+ clubs can auto draft these players, highest rank wins. The club that has them in season 1 has no rights in season 2. Those rights go to the other Core4+ club and the rights cannot be traded until after the free agency draft. However the other teams listed can claim these players during Free Agency after season 1 or pick them up if they are ever waived during either season. Free agency rules apply so the season 2 club can use the resigning clause if the player is claimed during the FA draft.

Clear? Am I missing any other glaring possibilities?

I leave town the 24th and get back the 29th and will have little internet while away. If we get the league up and running so we can do waivers on the 22nd that would be great so I have time to check free agency and get my team set up for games starting the 28th. If we can't the league up by that time can we push the draft back so we don't draft until the 30th? Yankees may be ok but the Pads will need all the help they can get.
