Well, I got answers to two questions last night:

My team's not as good as they looked against LHP and I'm short on pitching. Ouch. MBertolli's team, on the other hand looked awesome in demonstrating those truths to me.

And yes, Joe, I'm in Texas, but in Austin, where the storm barely touched us. Thanks for asking.

I still have no answers other than I hate this game.

Edge, glad you're ok. :)

Joe, I don't think you're going to get much interest in a chat here. Too bad. Some good players in this league, would love to hear their thoughts.

I take it you didn't rate the teams for this league. How about your division? I used to do all of that, but found I do just about as well without it, and it's rare I even rate my division.

My division looks interesting between the Pugs and my team, polar opposites. I'm not mentioning the Tundra Tigers yet because it's hard to take seriously someone playing with 3K in the bank. The Pugs are up 5-1 head to head with me, so he's probably feeling pretty good.

I'm feeling better because Encarnacion finally started to hit.

Hi Edge,

Yeah, I will rate the teams, more or less, how much time I put into will depend on how much chat we get here. Sometimes I just do a cursory look at each team and don't really worry about pitching usage.

I don't usually post much till after game 81 because people make changes and it's hard to keep up and, honestly, I'd rather not give things away until it's at least a little expensive to fix problems. ;)

But, since you've been on here, I'll give you some thoughts about your team. Funny that you're named the Rabbits even though you're a power team. ;) You should be very good at home. As a Coors team, you have a ton of power, plus you only spent $26 mil on pitching. I think I might have spend a bit more. Like NextLevel, you'll be hoping for some comeback wins as your SPs aren't great and your first three RP are very good.

Your OB might be a tad light, especially on the road. I think you'll be fine v LHP. Pitching parks will lead to a lot of solo shots and missed bphrs for you I think.

You're right about the Tigers. I have a hunch that he drafted the team and then forgot about it. The lineups are a little out of whack. I have been happy to play him as we went 5-1 against him in back-to-back series. I didn't know the schedule did that. Weird.

Hard to know anything about my team with its start. We've only played two total series that weren't a sweep for one team or the other (mostly the other team :( ) We'll give it a big longer before I really have an idea if this team is really a BAD team. I think we should be at least OK.

We play you next so that should be interesting.

Well Edge, we managed to take one in your place. I have to say I'm happy to get one given the way our team has started!

Well, I did what I usually hate to do: change the direction of a team already in the race and that I felt fairly good about. I think my moves took care of one of my main problems (SP) and exacerbated the other (lack of OB). I just feel better about the pitching with every starter slid back a slot. Didn't want to always come from behind. Carter will do fine at Coors, but I am worried about how we'll play on the road. Lots of good teams in this league.

Well, it will be interesting to see. Your rating stayed about the same, but it sort of depends on how many IP you get out of Hunter and Knebel instead of Iglesias. Yeah, Carter doesn't help your OB or D, but he'll hit some HRs in your park.

Meanwhile we continue to struggle even against teams that don't have good offense we're giving up a lot of runs and late comebacks. Managed to win 2 tonight. Maybe we'll find our stride. I don't think this team is this bad.

I guess I'm going to have to do something. We continue to play .333 ball. Part of me wants to just wait it out, I know we're not this bad. Been a lot of rolls on the other team's cards and we're behind in the bphr rolls too. I don't think every SP I have should be 1.5 runs over their ERAs playing against some very weak offensive teams and in a singles park, but that's where we are now.

It is apparent we need more pop. Our slugging just isn't cutting it. Although some of that's on Votto, among others, just not hitting for any pop at all. He's carting a .742 OPS right now. I'm sure we lead the league in LOB.

Apologies for not being more active, I'm not use to these league chats.

So far my team is playing out as expected, dominant at home & .500ish on the road. Which brings me back to my original question about teams not taking full advantage of park advantages.

On another note Edge, I cannot for the life of me EVER figure out how to win in Coors. Like, ever. Perhaps you could share your formula... lol

Joe... To me your team looks pretty strong, under performance of Votto & the starters seems to be the issue IMO.

Michael.

Thanks Michael, that's what I keep telling myself, but it's not getting any better so I'm beginning to wonder. Either this team is completely snake bit, or it's completely flawed. Clearly we could use some more pop as the guys I have just aren't getting it done.

We're 10-11 in Runs scored while second in OB and third in average! We're also fourth in SBs which *should* help. We've left a lot of guys on base it would appear. Of course, when you're dead last in slugging....

As for the pitching, yeah, they've all pretty much majorly underperformed. Makes it that much harder.

Gonna see if we can pick up some pop without gutting the team.
