When I drafted the original league rules, I tried to short-circuit some of the traditional elements, in order to speed things up. As we saw in the 2008 draft, that added an unnecessary level of confusion. Let's consider changing the rules, as follows:

Current rules include:

INITIAL DRAFT
7) All drafts will be conducted with no clock for the first round and a 2-hour clock for subsequent rounds...

ANNUAL FREE AGENT DRAFT
1) A non-serpentine free agent draft of 5 rounds will be held each year after the playoffs are concluded.

ANNUAL WAIVERS & FRENZY
1) After 5 players are drafted for each team in the annual free agent draft, owners will load their teams into the league for the new season. Initial selections on the draft lists will be for new players to add to each roster, beyond those kept from the previous season or selected in the annual draft.
2) At the completion of the waivers period, a standard Strat frenzy will occur, in which teams will fill out their rosters to the maximum of 28.

Suggested revised rules:

INITIAL DRAFT
7) All drafts will be conducted with no clock for the first round, a 2-hour clock for rounds 2 through 5, and a 1-hour clock for later rounds.

ANNUAL FREE AGENT DRAFT
1) A non-serpentine free agent draft of at least 4 rounds will be held each year after the playoffs are concluded. Managers will continue drafting at least until they have 25 players eligible to be loaded into the league, per game engine limits. Rosters can be filled to maximum of 28, including those not carded for the upcoming season.

ANNUAL WAIVERS & FRENZY
1) There shall be NO annual waivers and frenzy.
2) Rosters are finalized after the draft, except for trade-related activity.

Keeper + draft minimum is 25; mx is 28

All traded picks maintain their value
