Andy, this is not a good analogy; as we are talking 2 different games with entirely different stats rules etc.
we aren't comparing candyland to monopoly.
A more accurate analogy would be the comparison of using football stats prior to the kicking game.

just to be clear, I wasn't planning on creating a poll.

I'm already asserting that most folks want the earlier cards in the set; but was trying to be fair in allowing for other people's opinions.

I think the correct wording should be is that you 'ass/u/me' that most folks...

yeah man--
this is pretty funny I guess?

Let me not point out how many times Ive bothered to give you an accurate assessment of whats happening in both the community regarding participation and with what players are usable where, and how that's actually proven to be the case, yeah?

and to reiterate-- I didn't suggest the poll in the first place-- only agreed it wasn't a bad idea

it's hilarious!

I love the not pointing out, too much. Look you know stuff, great it's appreciated. Doesn't make it gospel.

To put a pin in this, we will be moving forward with a 1893+ card add strategy for the foreseeable future. Like I said earlier, sometimes someone just needs to make a decision.

Actually, I feel like comparing it as two different games is not that far afield, though it might be slight hyperbole.

One game: pitchers stand 60’6” inches from a batter, intent on either delivering a fastball upwards of 94mph or throwing an assortment of pitches designed to deceive the batter, or at least throw off his timing in his attempt to do the hardest thing in sports—use a round bat to hit a round ball thrown at 90mph.

The Other Game: A batter requests a high or low pitch from the obliging pitcher. The pitcher then executed an underhand toss to the spot the batter requests.

How can we say these two examples can possibly be treated the same? Again, saying you don’t care that they are two different games is entirely different than saying they are not two different games. Are Slow Pitch Softball and Baseball different games?

Short answer is this can be argued either way.

While Id like to see pre 1893 players, I'm not invested in it so much as we need to have tons of arguments--
b/c Ive already brought up what we SHOULD be arguing about--- and its not this.

What we SHOULD be discussing is not an argument about cards-- its like we are all arguing over scraps of meat instead of the actual meal-- and its a shame that's what we are left doing.
Ross Barnes is in, don't think hes coming out-- I like him in the set, some other folks don't.

What needs to be discussed is whats going on here--
its been how many years since we've even had a hint of a new atg. we've been talking about game stuff for years.

Now look at what's been happening-- we have a blog that comes out to talk about new cards and occasional sales-- that's it, nothing else for literally months.
WE have a football game that's being marketed to the people who are playing som baseball--
WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON???

Perhaps we should discuss Rosie's role. I thought it was to help organize the process of adding cards. It appears to have morphed into him being the arbiter of the process. Sort of like the strat equivalent of Alexander Haig at the White House, someone has to be in charge and make the decisions, oh sorry, offer guidance.
