Just a comment for general interest - I think that the first season had a very high level of play (card quality), especially among hitters. Even when pitchers had their best cards in the first season, it was still hard for them to achieve a low ERA.

I think that the part in red below suggests that they do not.

After this FA draft concludes you will post 15 keepers from your 142+ game roster on the Post your keepers board, protected players need to be included in your keepers. Those keepers need to be on your Auto draft card along with your FA draftees, obviously at the bottom. So its 15 Keepers + and FA draftees. Any players (keepers and FA draftees included) not on your auto draft card and that qualify for other clubs are fair game during waivers. No other requirements for your auto draft card exist. EI. If your club holds exclusive rights to a player he does not have to be on your auto draft card.

I think that drafted FAs are distinctly different from Protected players. The very first pick of Saberhagen for example has Ellis Burks being protected by Colorado as compensation for losing Saberhagen. Burks needs to be on the Rockies' 15-player protected list, but Saberhagen does not need to be on KC's list.

However as you correctly stated, we should wait and see what Rosie has to say.

FA drafted players are NOT included in your 15 keepers. But they must be on your auto draft list. Apologies for the lack of clarity.

Well I didn't see THAT coming. C'est la vie, nothing I can do about it anyway.

One more question for Rosie. I feel like you've probably already answered this but damned if I can find it. Willie McGee is Core5 for STL, and SF has no rites to him unless STL doesn't want him. As far as I know, McGee does not need to be on my protected list, but must be on my AD list or I risk losing him. Same thing goes for Mike Stanley and Tom Gordon from my Red Sox. None of them can be on any other team's AD list.
