I was looking ahead a week or so back to see if I could align my rotation to have Kershaw come up, but he'd have lost a start to do it so you were able to avoid him this time. The game that hurt most last night was the 2nd one. You only got 5 hits, but 3 of them were HR. Meanwhile Wood and Kimbrel were doing even better and keeping the Pylons off the bases. BVogaerts opened the game with a single, and then in the 6th a Stewart single and a Bogaerts HR were intertwined with 3 Ks for our only runs, and the end of our base-runners until a 2-our error in the 9th gave us false hope.
We meet again on the last night of the season. It would be nice to have this wrapped up by then so those games are meaningless, but that's not likely to happen with the likes of the competition here.
Yeah, I missed Kershaw and you missed Hendricks (yes, well aware that Kershaw is better
) Surprising that Wood pitched so well against you because you CRUSH LHP. Must have been on my card all game.
Looks like the last games won't matter for me at least as we got lucky against Big A, winning 2 one run games, one in 13 innings and swept him. You're welcome as I see you had the same trouble with Doug.
We trailed in every game with Big A. First one we got down 2-0, but had a 5 run inning capped by a werth HR. Game two took a lead 3-0, fell behind 4-3 and then had a four run inning in the next half inning.
In the final game, we took 4-2 lead to the top of the 9th but Gorkys and Vargas went deep off of Blanton (there were SEVEN HRs in the game
) The game goes to 13 and Galvis singles in the go ahead run for him only to see Beltre hit a 2 run double to "send the fans home happy".
Our series and Falcon's clinch the East for us. We are up on Semper for the HF advantage, but don't have that clinched yet.
Semper's Magic # is 1 over Hawk and 2 over Dale so it's safe to say he'll take the Central I think, but stranger things have happened.
Smokey continues to cling to a 1 game lead in the West, I think it's safe to say that that one will go down to the wire. AND, don't forget that Spider is hanging only 4 back.
The WC Standing look like this:
- Code: Select all
Owner... W L GB

Smokey** 77 76 4
nythawk1 76 77 5

Falcon is definitely in the driver's seat, but he's got 3 with Big A left.
