Hate losing 2 to Doug at home losing Asdrubal and Jones for the series with Big A in the process. :(

In our situation we can use any help ...!

Having the 3 best teams in the same division really is ....

Yeah, no doubt!

Yeah, no doubt!

Hey, does this mean that the Pylons are FINALLY getting some love?

Now, now Mr. Falcon, you were rated as #4 in the ratings, that's pretty darn good. AND, I believe I said the ratings predicted: "JTJ and Falcon battling in the East "

So quit playing "poor me." Oh, and BTW, I see you *finally* lost a game after 11 straight. Cry me a river Mr. Falcon. ;) 8-)

Okay, so I'm guilty as charged. I prefer the underdog role where nobody expects you to do anything, and when it doesn't play out that way I try and fabricate the sentiment.

Having said that, I'm just hoping to be able to hold off the other challengers and cling to the WC. These last 18 games, home-and-home with each other divisional rival, are where the wheat and chafe will be separated. Go easy on me. ;)

Yeah, we have the first 9 and home and then hit the road for the final 9. Be nice to have a bit of a cushion before then. We managed to gain a game on you tonight, but we have you at our place next. We really need to hold serve at home as we haven't played well in Big A's or, especially, Doug's places. Weird as they are similar parks to ours. Like you said, just trying to get to the finish line without blowing a tire right now.

Meanwhile Semper has opened up a 7 game lead and is making it tough to be caught.

In the West, Smoke is holding on, but Jeep and Spidey are right there.

Well managed to take two from you tonight Falcon. Surprised, however, that it was Triggs who got the loss. He matches up pretty well with your squad. That was big for us as, as I mentioned, we finish with 9 on the road. Hopefully we can win a series tomorrow with Big A before hitting the road.

Jeep is making things uncomfortable for Smokey with a five game win streak. They don't, however, play each other again until the last series of the season.

Speaking of streaks, Semper is 9-1 over the past 10. He had won 7 in a row before losing the first one tonight. Hawk has only three left with Semp and that's tomorrow night so, if he's going to make some noise, now's the time!

Yes a timely sweep of my ole nemesis Stones last night. 8-)

Was wondering if Kate Upton was in the running for the Nebraska job? ;)

I was looking ahead a week or so back to see if I could align my rotation to have Kershaw come up, but he'd have lost a start to do it so you were able to avoid him this time. The game that hurt most last night was the 2nd one. You only got 5 hits, but 3 of them were HR. Meanwhile Wood and Kimbrel were doing even better and keeping the Pylons off the bases. BVogaerts opened the game with a single, and then in the 6th a Stewart single and a Bogaerts HR were intertwined with 3 Ks for our only runs, and the end of our base-runners until a 2-our error in the 9th gave us false hope.

We meet again on the last night of the season. It would be nice to have this wrapped up by then so those games are meaningless, but that's not likely to happen with the likes of the competition here.

Yeah, I missed Kershaw and you missed Hendricks (yes, well aware that Kershaw is better ;) ) Surprising that Wood pitched so well against you because you CRUSH LHP. Must have been on my card all game.

Looks like the last games won't matter for me at least as we got lucky against Big A, winning 2 one run games, one in 13 innings and swept him. You're welcome as I see you had the same trouble with Doug.

We trailed in every game with Big A. First one we got down 2-0, but had a 5 run inning capped by a werth HR. Game two took a lead 3-0, fell behind 4-3 and then had a four run inning in the next half inning.

In the final game, we took 4-2 lead to the top of the 9th but Gorkys and Vargas went deep off of Blanton (there were SEVEN HRs in the game :!: :!: :o :o :o   ) The game goes to 13 and Galvis singles in the go ahead run for him only to see Beltre hit a 2 run double to "send the fans home happy".

Our series and Falcon's clinch the East for us. We are up on Semper for the HF advantage, but don't have that clinched yet.

Semper's Magic # is 1 over Hawk and 2 over Dale so it's safe to say he'll take the Central I think, but stranger things have happened.

Smokey continues to cling to a 1 game lead in the West, I think it's safe to say that that one will go down to the wire. AND, don't forget that Spider is hanging only 4 back.

The WC Standing look like this:
Code: Select all
Owner...   W   L   GB
FALCON29   81   72   --
BigAlric   78   75   3
Smokey**   77   76   4
nythawk1   76   77   5
dalekeen   76   77   5
Jeepdriv   76   77   5

**Leads division

Falcon is definitely in the driver's seat, but he's got 3 with Big A left.
