A lot of the deadball era catchers have high throwing errors and high passed balls. At least your passed balls aren't too bad, which goes with Bresnahan's pb-7 and your backup's pb-5.
One way to get the most out of a card like this Bresnahan card (c-1(-2)e10,T-15(pb-7)) is to choose SP's with good hold ratings. A -2 or -3 hold plus Bresnahan's -2 arm would be -4 of -5, which would really deter steal attempt, lowering the TErr's. I have typically used Berra this way, since both cards are -2 with high throwing errors.
Hahn (-2 hold) has a 17-11 record vs. steals, which is good (a 67% success rate is the break-even on steals). If the other guys on your staff had similar holds, you'd be in good shape.
All of this said, catcher throwing errors are less bad than most other errors. They don't add a baserunner or lose an out (no TErr's on CS), so the result, usually, is a runner on third instead of second.
