You know how I dislike when someone does this! Now I'm doomed for sure!
Getting swept by Doug last night was made easier to handle because Big A also got swept. Maybe neither of us wants to win. That final series is tonight, so one of us may be waving a white flag by this time tomorrow.

Sorry, not trying to jinx you so I retract my statement.

Falcon is in no better shape than anyone else in the WC chase! :P :P

Certainly a big Series for the WC race and you're home for the last 9 games where you've posted a > .600 win pct. But, you are certainly NOT in the drivers seat!!!! 8-) :P :P

Well, it must have worked Falcon as you swept Big A and eliminated him. You haven't swept however. Your magic number is 2 with Jeep and/or Smokey who are tied in the west. You don't have the tiebreaker with either of them.

We just cannot beat Doug as we got swept again in his place. We ended up 3-9 in Yankee stadium which I figure is just made for our squad. He just crushed our pitching there. Glad we won't see him in the playoffs BUT, our lead in the HF advantage race narrowed to 3 (but really 2) games over Semp as he swept to clinch his spot in the Central.

We were looking to rest some guys, but that big swing in games may change our minds.

Am very bitter about that sweep by the Pylons.   Looks like my team doesn't really want to be in the playoff. :x :x :x

Not just swept, but 3-straight complete game shut-outs.

Maybe this is the turning point. To quote Steve Martin, "Things are going to start happening to me now." Of course that was from "The Jerk", and happened right when the sniper chose his name randomly from the phone book.

Actually I HAVE clinched. Jeep and Smokey play each other in the last series of the season, and for the Pylons to miss the WC they'd both have to have at least 5 wins in the last 6 games, which isn't possible.

Wow, way to rub it in Falcon! ;)

Big A, now *that* is a tough way to get eliminated. :o

Falcon, your math is correct and that means that Spider is also eliminated. The only things to be decided are Jeep or Smokey in the West and the HF advantage. My magic number is 4.

Thanks for pinting that out, Falcons.
At least we'll now have some bulletin board material for next season!

Anything anyone can do to jinx Smokey would be appreciated. Note how Smokey is very quite. You know he knows how close this race is. ;)

So Jeep, are you saying this isn't a good time to point out how you've won four of the last five series, and 9 of 11 games? ;) 8-) :P OTOH I could point out that Spider has won 6 of the last 9 from you including a sweep the last time you guys played at his place like you are tonight. :P

I don't have much on Smokey as he's been pretty up and down and has to finish on the road where he's actually been better at than at home! His problem is that he hasn't been good in the division while you've been very good so far.

Not sure if that will jinx anyone or not, but figured I'd throw in my two cents since you asked. ;) 8-)
