Is Strat Football dead for now?

PostFri Dec 08, 2017 11:41 am

I look at the thread and see that no one is discussing anything. It looks like the football version is dead until they make some changes. :?

Thats the way I'm looking at it. I won't play it unless they make improvements, more control being at the top of the list.

The football version is dead to me; for now anyway. I have unused credits that I’m saving just in case they release an updated version. I’d be more optimistic if Strat would at least acknowledge our concerns or indicate they are working on a more appealing version. Despite the obvious lack of player interest, Strat appears unwilling to make any changes. There has to be something more to this because the football version has plenty of interest and so much potential. I’m curious as to the real reason Strat isn’t concerned that a potentially huge revenue opportunity is being largely ignored by its customers. Somebody knows the reason(s), but unfortunately it’s not me...

I have to agree it is pretty boring. I’d like to to see a watch feature like the baseball game. Also playing one half a night make the most sense

Howdy, I agree with the OP: Strat Football needs a fix. The most glaring problem to me is that Linebackers cannot blitz and obtain only a fraction of the sacks they should be getting. Why even bother offering the 3-4 defense?

I got an email offering 2 football credits for $10.
That tells me no one is playing.

The Strategy options seem to me to be a bit severe. If you pick “Smash Mouth” your team runs the ball 50 times and throws 4 or 5 passes. I have watched a lot of football in my day and I have never seen a team only pass the ball 4 times in a 60 minute game. Come on Strat, fix this game and it could be awesome.

I’d sell my 4 credits for $10. The game is not fun

Yep, dead. And when the user base gave them suggestions, they told us to shut up and play the game they made.

So I won't play that simple. the old 2001 broken version was more fun than this.

Try the 1971 Oklahoma Sooners. 70 rushing attempts per game vs. 6.8 passing attempts. I still see that glorious wishbone offense and some pretty intense defense.

Also, the '73, '74, '75 (5.8 passes per game), '76 (5.3 p/g), '77, '78, '79 versions were pretty similar.

Just a reminder how good college football could be, here's the 1971 meeting between Oklahoma and Nebraska:

ps just discovered that the 1933 Boston Redskins averaged 8.8 pass attempts per game against 38.9 rushing attempts, but that I suppose is normal given the relative primacy of the rushing game in the early NFL.
