Someone on TV last night: "He's dumber than a box of rocks."
To which I thought: "Those dumber than two boxes of rocks will never realize that."

I'll let you all decide to whom this applies.....

Maxie-- a lot of the time its about the people watching the discussion rather than those directly involved.
You are correct that no one is likely to back off their stated beliefs-- but there is value in at least a curosry examination of whether those beliefs have any grounding in reality.

What is the Progressive Caucus? I like the Freedom Caucus instead. I would not believe Durbin. Hillary lost, the left can't understand it, and their Russia collusion investigation has wasted millions of dollars while finding nothing.

you can choose to disbelieve or believe whatever suits you-- but there is no discussion to be had here, other than a distraction from trying to get SoM to start taking some responsibility for fixing things.

Whatever the outcome of who said what and the Russia investigation, the public will be the last to know. Why? That same old tired excuse, 'National Security'. I don't dislike Trump, I think he's way out of his element on running the country and not Presidential material. 87 days so far spent on golfing instead of, well maybe, higher priorities. That's almost 3 months waisted. Oh yeah, that nuke button on his desk that Trump said was 'bigger and his works', is not a toy he can waive around like a little kid. Ok Trump. Use it and see what happens....

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...

It does not matter where you stand politically. Paul Ryan republicans who believe that government is an evil and helping the poor only keeps them poor or Bernie Sanders socialists who believe the government should redistribute wealth or everyone in between, and even the people who just don't care and want to be left alone. All Americans left, right black, white, religious, atheists should be ashamed and angry to have elected this piece of crap.

The dictator of North Korea was making the threats to Guam and firing missiles over Japan, they only country hit with atom bombs. So why to focus on Trump on his button when the North Korean dictator is making the threats. You must be listening to the main stream fake news.
The Progressive Caucus was started by Bernie Sanders in 1991. That was from the "Enemies Within" book, meaningless crap right? Obama ran on the hope and change slogan in 2008. And fundamental transformation. Hugo Chavez used the same "hope and change" slogan running in his campaign in Venezuela in 1999. Chavez said see if you like it after 2 years, and I will step down if you do not. Chavez said that with having no intention of ever stepping down. That is how people get sucked in because it looks good at first. Today there are long lines for all sorts of items in Venezuela now with Maduro as the socialist dictator. Where socialsim spreads misery follows. Obama has set up a headquarters 2 miles from the White House in his Organizing For America (formerly Organizing for Obama) group to subvert the Trump administration. Valerie Jarrett and Michelle Obama lives there with him. For the first time in American history we do not have a peaceful transfer of power. They are deliberately doing things to subvert Trump. Yes and I listened to liberal actor Robert DeNiro speaking in front of a crowd saying F Trump many times over after the Golden Globes.
If the left has the vast, vast majority, why did you lose the election?

From the blurb of the book:

Trevor Loudon’s research has been cited by Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, countless articles, blog posts and in books by well known authors Paul Kengor, Aaron Klein and Jerome Corsi.

My God, I had thought redbaiting had disappeared with the demise of Joseph McCarthy.

I live abroad (so thank heavens I don't have to listen to the likes of Limbaugh and Beck) and though you may be happy with the red baseball cap wearing dolt, be assured that the rest of the world in its vast (VAST) majority is quaking with fear, wondering when the stooge in the White House is going to destroy mankind. Between believing Trump or Durbin (who I don't necessarily hold in high favor either), the choice is pretty easy. Instead of reading crap like Loudon, try reading some real history -- how American immigration policies of the 1920s were directly linked to racist and nativist agendas, how eugenicism in the teens and 20s was a key factor in swaying public opinion, how America in the 20th and 21st century has consistently denigrated intellectuals....

No one gives a shit what "the rest of the world" thinks. No one cares what the whored out European press writes. Most importantly, no one gives a shit about your take on US history. Intellectuals are powerless. Always have been.

"Fake news" simply means: the facts you are giving me do not conveniently mesh with the way I chose to view the world so I am choosing to believe that you made them up, no matter how much proof you have to their veracity and how ridiculous my position is in the light of those facts, because Fox news told me what I should believe." Seriously folks, 18 months ago, anyone saying that the news reported by 99% of international media outlets was "fake news" would have been rightly ridiculed as a conspiracy nut (by conservatives as well as liberals), but now it's being claimed daily to defend the nut in the White House. Because in the real world where we have real news, he is entirely undefendable.
