Computer Miscues

PostTue Jan 16, 2018 5:58 pm

Hello

Trying to find out how leading off the 9th inning of a tie game; a roll of 1-6 for Cristobal Torriente facing Bob Gibson:
Triple 1-11
Double 12-20

became a groundout.

Thanks

Can you confirm which Torriente card you are using. The Nel Nel card does in fact have a gb(2b)A+ at 1-6 verses RH pitcher. The 1920 card has the possible triple.

Located your roster and appears to show the 1920 as the one you have but result appears to have come from the other card. Might want to check with strat on this one. I think something is badly wrong here.

From the CDROM help file. This all they tell us

By selecting this maximum rule the following items are added to the game:

1) Ballpark doubles and triples are added for all AL and NL seasons.

2) The ability to guard the lines to prevent extra base hits late in the game is available.

3) Excess triple problem is resolved. Players who hit below 1/2 the league mean of triples will now perform properly as these extra triples will be replaced with doubles. For instance a player who hit no triples will not get any triples directly off a pitchers card (these will be turned into doubles), however the small possibility of a triple occurring from the fielding chart still remains.

Basically, some extra base hits are turned into outs , while some ground outs are turned into singles
