Finally got weaseled. tmfw30 is having a hell of a draft. Kershaw and Duffy both were up next. First picks all draft that actually hurt me. Well, at least I won't have half my salary invested in five players. So there is that.

Agreed. I thought hell would freeze over at least 4 or 5 times before I agreed with you on anything.

Now I get to agonize over which Wagner and Bagwell to use.

It is nice to have that flexibility. I strongly prefer the 7m SS Wagner and would use him under all scenarios. But the 6m 1B/3B/OF Wagner has been used on some of the best barnstormers teams ever created. +400 run differential teams. He and the Ashburn 58 card have been staples on some of the best teams ever.

Which Bagwell will just come down to how your division staffs turn out. If anyone dares to use too many lefties out comes that 9L Bagwell. In the barnstormers finals 2 years ago, I picked up the 7L Gibson off of waivers after the guys in my division were pitching an absurdly high number of lefty starters. I think he ended up hitting 100 HR or something.

That is part of why I drafted Morgan. Too many righty starters in my division, out comes the 5R version. Balanced staffs, I use the 2R version. Lefty heavy, and I start the E version.

Same logic for Delahanty. I have 3B/LF/CF/RF/1B all covered, depending on who goes, and I can choose between a 2L and even version.

I also love Ashburn. I am hot and cold about wagner 7m's card. Wagner 6m can hit anywhere in the line up, but he will also be substituted for defense, which also means I need to find an extra pinch hitter for whoever replaces him if I blow the lead. It awful hard to resist Bagwell 11.50 but I may have too from an injury prevention stand point. I've already maxed out the guys the amount of guys under that magic 600 AB's. Although all of em are "double 6" injuries.

ive been getting mauled all draft. i thought bonds and vaughan hurt the most. until mcgee went third round. that crushed my hopes and dreams. now i am stuck seeing how far maddux and wajo can take me. the funny thing is, i could be drafting big stars against myself. looks like everyone else is either going small SP or non stars or lefty niche stars.

I wouldn't feel too bad about not getting McGee.

Mcgee does not have the card that he appears to have. Check your player roster in the computer game or that card viewer app that SOM has been pushing.

That 3-7 Sl vs righties is, if I recall, something like Sl 1-3 lo ss 4-20 or even worse.

Marc made the discovery in a thread on the ATG boards, I think from early in 2017 after I posted about how Diamond Dope screwed up the rating on one very popular player added in 2016. That rating still hasn't been fixed in DD  (I wasn't giving that info away) but the mystery of the 1985 Sl has been solved. You can calculate the actual singles from the little color bar each card now has at the bottom to determine what the mystery Sl ratings actually are for the '85 players.

And even if you knew about McGee, you made the astute point earlier about it being a vast set with all kinds of options. You just didn't get your ideal scenario. The set is so big that with a good first few rounds, one could skip the next ten rounds and still have a shot at the playoffs.

Hallerose, you should surely name your team the Petro Slayers. You could not do that man any worse than draft both Sutter and Collins.
