PostMon Jan 15, 2018 4:23 pm

Thought it'd be fun to see players best and worst teams from the 2016 set.

I'll go first. Best team.

Peter OBRIEN .62
40-50 hrs on the regular. Low average and OBP, but for the cost and the money to allocate elsewhere its my fav card of 2016

had great success with Jake Lamb and Austin/Rollins/Weeks

around 5M and I would get 35+ HR and 100+ RBI every time

Sticking to under 5 million guys...

I''ll second Lamb. Matt Joyce was great. Jedd Gyorko was a 40-50 hr guy. Liked Robbie Groosman, too. Wilder Difo was a cheap 2b who gave decent numbers. Dexter Fowler was good at cf. Corey Seager at ss. JD Martinez. Stephen Drew. Wasn't that big on defense this year...

Wilmer Flores, as a short side of a platoon, at 3b. put up MONSTER numbers in limited ab's on every team I had him on.

Just an example:

Flores, Wilmer 242 ab's 44 r's 77h's 21hr's 49rbi's .318 .362 .624

Cameron Maybin always out produced his salary. Schugel and Britton also out performed their high salaries. Those were my faves. Honorable mention to Iwakuma and Profar.

Generally speaking good hitters with poor defense (Maybin, Joyce, etc) will outperform their salary offensively vs similarly priced players with better defense. That is not surprising.

I doubt very much that people are not factoring the poor defense in saying they liked a particular card. They may be wrong about that evaluation of course...but it would be silly for someone to say they liked Joyce or Gyorko without factoring in the bad defense. Of course they could mean they liked the card at DH, too.
