1. No TRADING in this league. That includes players and draft positions. 2. You may have as many or as few players on your roster that the game will allow. 3. It would be more fun if your team name somehow let everyone else easily know what two teams you have but you can be creative with it. However this is a preference rather than a rule.

A couple questions for the commish:
1) Why wait for the cards to run our franchise draft? 2) This is my first time using a format like this using the previous season card set. What is the effect of trades which occurred during the season? Ie. Does Verlander belong to Detroit or Houston? And how about the case of a player like JD Martinez, who played in both the AL and NL. Will he have a card for both the Tigers and D-Backs?
We are waiting to be able to see the cards and teams so we know what we are drafting. Therefore we need to wait till the cards come out on Friday or next Monday.
We will use the team SOM assigns each player. There is only one card per player and they always use the team a player finished the season with so Verlander will be an Astro, JD Martinez is a Diamondback, etc.
When the cards come out you should use a credit and start a team. You can call it anything you want and edit your team name later on. Once you have a team and get to choosing players, there is a drop down filter for each team so that you only see the players for any one particular team. You can cycle through the team rosters to help you decide what team you may want to select.
You can try that out now with any team you have or even a completed team. Go to the free agents and look for the drop down so that you can sort just by one team. If you are using an ATG team the drop down will be by team and era such as BOS-pre or NYY-post. If you are using a 2016 team it will simply be BOS, NYY, DET, etc, etc.
