Last September I posted the thread below regarding pitchers that had no cards in the online Strat game. Since the posting several of these cards have been released by Strat; players such as House, Sanders and Rob Murphy produced sensational cards. Additionally according to Rosie, Dave Righetti will automatically be chosen with the next group voted on.
Regarding some of the cards mentioned in the previous posts , it appears Ken Tatum,Jim Kern, Dick Donovan and Fritz Perterson would also be welcome additions. Because most of the players below are relievers, I would lobby for the few starters who are on this list; namely Tom Murphy, Hammaker, Roland , McCatty and Ruffin.

Original post as follows:

First of all I would like to say that I like the way Strat releases new cards several times a year. Even though I too am disappointed in many of the selections I look forward to their release; if every card was released tomorrow we would have nothing to look forward to or for some people nothing to complain about.
I played the board game for about 10 years starting in 1982 and I had almost every Strat card that was released prior to about the early 90's. Knowing that there were some great cards we used that never made it to the online game I pulled the cards out of my closet and did a little research. I found 17 very good if not spectacular pitchers cards that would be worthy of a nomination.
Recently I have only been playing Franchise leagues, so I know that these players would certainly find a place in the franchise leagues but most of them could also land a spot on traditional league rosters. The majority of the players are relievers, but most of them are shut down pitchers! For those of you who have the card viewer take a look at some of these cards, the only unknown factor is pricing. To the best of my knowledge none of these players have an online card with the exception of Righetti.
Below is the list

1) Ken Sanders 1970 Brewers RH RP3.....ERA 1.75 WHIP 0.96---released

2) Tom House 1974 Braves. LH RP3.......ERA 1.92 WHIP 0.98----released

Just like the pitchers above, here are 14 hitters cards most of which are not represented in the online game. I dug these cards out of the old board game. Admittedly, most of these cards would not make it in an ATG lineup but I believe most of them could find a spot on a franchise league. Although most of these cards present an injury risk because they don't have the required 600 ABs, each card has very unique qualities and would help out their respective franchises, especially some of the weaker ones that currently lack players.

Ed Herrman 1970 WHITESOX--. .283 avg, .356 OBP, 19 Hrs, C-3, LH hitting catcher with 19 homers in 297 plate appearances, good power vs Righties

Jim Morrison--1979 --WHITESOX .275 avg .324 OBP 14 Hrs in 275 plate apps. RHB 2B-3 3b-3, has 3 full HRs against left handed pitching

Al Smith-1961---Whitesox .278 avg .348 OBP 28 Hrs in 532PAs good solid LF-2 RHB

Mike Ivie--1979--Giants .286 avg , 359 OBP , 27 Hrs in 402PAs, 1B-2, RHB, great power against lefties with 3 straight out homers

Larry Parrish--1979--EXPOS -.307 Avg , .357 OBP , 30 Hrs in 544 PAs , 3B-2 RHB, nice addition to Expos franchise

Mike Jorgensen-1974 EXPOS -.310 avg , .444 OBP , 11 Hrs in 287 PAs, LHB, 1B-1, RF-3 LF-3 Ditto for Expos

Richie Hebner--1972--.PIRATES , 300 Avg , .378 OBP , 19 Hrs in 427 PAs , LHB , 3B--3 , would help a weak Pirates infield.

Clarence Gaston-1970--PADRES , -.318 Avg , .364 OBP , 29 HRs in 584 PAs , RHB , good solid CF

Dave Magadan 1990--, METS , .328 Avg , .417 OBP , 6 Hrs in 451 PAs, LHB , 1B-3 , on base machine vs RHP

Steve Bilko--1961--ANGELS , .279 Avg , .395 OBP , 20 Hrs in only 295 PAs, 1B-4, great DH with power vs lefties

Chris Bando 1984---Indians , .291 Avg , .377 OBP , 12 HRs in 220 PAs , C-3, switchhitting catcher with power from both sides

Chuck Hinton 1970 --INDIANS , .318 , . 392 OBP , 9 Hrs in 195 PAs , RHB, PLAYS LF-3, RF-3 as well as 2B, 3b and catcher-4

Johnny Logan--1956--BRAVES , .281 Avg . 340 OBP, 15 Hrs in 545 PAs, RHB, SS-2, steady would fill Braves SS void

Jeff Leonard--1981-GIANTS , .290 Avg , .346 OBP , 4 HRs in 145 PAs , RHB, LF-2, RF-2,, AWSOME card Vs lefties with 2 straighout homers and 3 1/2 triples , a lefty killer

I don't know where you get the 3 1/2 triples for 1981 Jeff Leonard. I used to use that card back in 82 in a face to face league and that card has 21 (that's right, 21!) triple chances vs lefties.

Yeah Steve, I probably didn't do such a good job explaining that; On Leonard's card versus LHP he has home runs listed at both 2-5 and 3-6, he then has triples across the board at 1-7, 2-7 and 3-7; addditionally he's has another partial triple at the 1-8 slot ( triple 1-12 double 13-20). Stealing B 1-16. LF 2 (-2) E5, RF-2, CF-3 1B 3 E24

Stats are a bit skewered because of the strike shortened 1981 season; monster card vers LHP that would depend on pricing.

A few possibilities for players with no cards:

1929 Dale Alexander -- RH 1B with the Tigers .343/.397/.580, 43 doubles, 15 triples, 25 homers (363 total bases), 137 rbis (rookie record until Ted Williams broke it) bulletproof (probably a 1L)
or
1932 Dale Alexander -- RH 1B with the Red Sox .367/.454/.513 (batting champ), 156 ops+, last great season for a player with .331 lifetime BA, in 1933 he was injured sliding into home and was brutally burned by the trainer who was using a new heat therapy. (probably a 3R)

1895 Jimmy Bannon -- RH OF with the Boston Braves .347/.417/.475, 35 doubles, 125 ops+

1922 Carson Bigbee -- LH OF with the Pirates .350/.405./.471, 29 doubles, 15 triples, 5 homers, 124 ops+ (probably a 4R or 5R)

1928 Del Bissonette -- LH 1B with the Dodgers .320/.396/.543 30 doubles, 13 triples, 25 homers (in his four-year career he had this triple double every year -- double figures in 2bs, 3bs, hrs) 145 ops+ the "Babe Ruth of Maine", probably would have had a great career if Dazzy Vance hadn't landed on his ankle during a volleyball game!

1894 Cupid Childs -- LH 2B with the Cleveland Spiders .353/.475/.459 123 ops+ (13-year career average 119 ops+)

2005 Tony Clark -- switch-hitting 1B with the Diamondbacks .304/.366/.636 154 ops+ (15-year veteran)

1895 Jack Clements -- LH C (lefthand thrower as well) with the Phillies .394/.446/.612 171 ops+ (17-year veteran)

1894 Lave Cross -- RH 3B/C (also SS/2B) with the Phillies .387/.424/.526 132 ops+ (21-year career average 100 ops+)

1980 Miguel Dilone -- Switch-hitting OF with the Indians .341/.375/.432 120 ops+, 30 doubles, 61 SB, 2R http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/833051/1680/1/80

2005 Mark Ellis -- RH 2B with the A's .316/.384/.477, 128 ops+, one of the greatest defensive 2b of all time

2005 Morgan Ensberg -- RH 3B with the Astros .283/.388/.557 144 ops+ 4th in MVP voting

2011 Adrian Gonzalez -- LH 1B with the Red Sox .338/.410/.548 155 ops+, led league in hits, http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/423/2011/1/2011

1895 Mike Griffin -- LH CF (plus SS) with the Brooklyn Grooms .332/.442/.454 139 ops+ (12-year career average 123 ops+) probably pretty decent in the field

1950 Johnny Groth -- RH CF with the Tigers .306/.407/.451 117 ops+ (15-year career average 99 ops+) 2L?

1927 George Harper -- LH RF with the Giants .331.435/.495 149 ops+ (11-year career average 118 ops+) 5R or 6R?

2000 Richard Hidalgo -- RH OF with the Astros .314/.391/.636 147 ops+, 42 doubles, 44 homers

2012 Torii Hunter -- RH RF with the Angels .313/.365/.451 129 ops+ http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/545/2012/1/2012

1997 Ray Lankford -- LH CF with the Cards .295/.411/.585 159 ops+ (14-year average 123 ops+) 36 doubles, 31 homers

2004 Carlos Lee -- RH LF with the White Sox .305/.366/.525 127 ops+ (14-year average 113 ops+) 37 doubles, 31 homers

1900 Kip Selbach -- RH OF with Giants .337/.425/.461 149 ops+ (13-year career 121 ops+)

1896 Mike Smith -- LH OF with Pirates .362/.454/.500 155 ops+ (14-year career 126 ops+)

1896 Mike Tiernan -- LH OF with Giants .369/.452/.516 158 ops+ (13-year career 138 ops+) one of the more important Giant outfielders

1894 Tuck Turner -- switch-hitting OF with Phillies .418./458/.539 144 ops+, probably not that great in the field

1925 Al Wingo -- LH OF with Tigers .370/.456/.527 151 ops+ probably a 2L or 3L

I probably should have specifically stated that what I was hoping to accomplish with this thread was to post images of highly useful cards to add to ATG. I see that many very useful player seasons have been added during my brief hiatus. My intent though is to make sure we know exactly what each card looks like, at least re hitting or pitching. Thus I won't comment on any cards that don't have images, despite many mentioned in this thread being quite meritorius on paper. Part of this is the result of the Mize card added last year; looked like his best season but the card itself was deservedly priced a couple of million below his 8.61 card. Sad to say, but with the insanely overblown ball park effects, you really don't know what you are getting without having access to the card image beforehand. I have been copying the images from the various seasons posted on this site which includes 2007-2017, all the mystery games and the '99, 86 and '82 seasons.

First thing I was interested in was identifying and hopefully getting more lefthanded non* starters and lefthanded relievers. That mine has not yet been exhausted but now I want to post some cheaper utility type players, that are in some ways unique relative to the current ATG pool.

Tony Womack A lefthanded Taveras type SS with no glove but who can also play the OF and 2B and pinch run. He is at the bottom of the salary range in Back to the 90's, would expect a similar salary with ATG, maybe even .5 M. Love the speed and the lefthanded bat at SS.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/3831/1690/1/90 Any one of the seasons from '97-'99 would make me happy.

Craig Counsell. "By the SAFE: Spatial Aggregate Fielding Evaluation method of evaluating defense, Counsell was both the highest-rated 2nd baseman and the highest-rated 3rd baseman over the period from 2002 to 2008, with an average runs saved of 10.18 and 5.86, respectively" per his Wikipedia page.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/258/2007/1/2007 3 e5 at 3B, 3e8 at SS and 2B. How many e5's do we currently have at 3B?

Don't know if these fit the bill for useful utility players. All of them play at least 5 positions with these particular years (though the Mystery Cards may not reflect that):
