Last September I posted the thread below regarding pitchers that had no cards in the online Strat game. Since the posting several of these cards have been released by Strat; players such as House, Sanders and Rob Murphy produced sensational cards. Additionally according to Rosie, Dave Righetti will automatically be chosen with the next group voted on.
Regarding some of the cards mentioned in the previous posts , it appears Ken Tatum,Jim Kern, Dick Donovan and Fritz Perterson would also be welcome additions. Because most of the players below are relievers, I would lobby for the few starters who are on this list; namely Tom Murphy, Hammaker, Roland , McCatty and Ruffin.

First of all I would like to say that I like the way Strat releases new cards several times a year. Even though I too am disappointed in many of the selections I look forward to their release; if every card was released tomorrow we would have nothing to look forward to or for some people nothing to complain about.
I played the board game for about 10 years starting in 1982 and I had almost every Strat card that was released prior to about the early 90's. Knowing that there were some great cards we used that never made it to the online game I pulled the cards out of my closet and did a little research. I found 17 very good if not spectacular pitchers cards that would be worthy of a nomination.
Recently I have only been playing Franchise leagues, so I know that these players would certainly find a place in the franchise leagues but most of them could also land a spot on traditional league rosters.The majority of the players are relievers, but most of them are shut down pitchers! For those of you who have the card viewer take a look at some of these cards, the only unknown factor is pricing. To the best of my knowledge none of these players have an online card with the exception of Righetti.

Just like the pitchers above, here are 14 hitters cards most of which are not represented in the online game. I dug these cards out of the old board game. Admittedly, most of these cards would not make it in an ATG lineup but I believe most of them could find a spot on a franchise league. Although most of these cards present an injury risk because they don't have the required 600 ABs, each card has very unique qualities and would help out their respective franchises, especially some of the weaker ones that currently lack players.

I don't know where you get the 3 1/2 triples for 1981 Jeff Leonard. I used to use that card back in 82 in a face to face league and that card has 21 (that's right, 21!) triple chances vs lefties.

Yeah Steve, I probably didn't do such a good job explaining that; On Leonard's card versus LHP he has home runs listed at both 2-5 and 3-6, he then has triples across the board at 1-7, 2-7 and 3-7; addditionally he's has another partial triple at the 1-8 slot ( triple 1-12 double 13-20). Stealing B 1-16. LF 2 (-2) E5, RF-2, CF-3 1B 3 E24

Stats are a bit skewered because of the strike shortened 1981 season; monster card vers LHP that would depend on pricing.

I probably should have specifically stated that what I was hoping to accomplish with this thread was to post images of highly useful cards to add to ATG. I see that many very useful player seasons have been added during my brief hiatus. My intent though is to make sure we know exactly what each card looks like, at least re hitting or pitching. Thus I won't comment on any cards that don't have images, despite many mentioned in this thread being quite meritorius on paper. Part of this is the result of the Mize card added last year; looked like his best season but the card itself was deservedly priced a couple of million below his 8.61 card. Sad to say, but with the insanely overblown ball park effects, you really don't know what you are getting without having access to the card image beforehand. I have been copying the images from the various seasons posted on this site which includes 2007-2017, all the mystery games and the '99, 86 and '82 seasons.

First thing I was interested in was identifying and hopefully getting more lefthanded non* starters and lefthanded relievers. That mine has not yet been exhausted but now I want to post some cheaper utility type players, that are in some ways unique relative to the current ATG pool.

Tony Womack A lefthanded Taveras type SS with no glove but who can also play the OF and 2B and pinch run. He is at the bottom of the salary range in Back to the 90's, would expect a similar salary with ATG, maybe even .5 M. Love the speed and the lefthanded bat at SS.
