What is going on with the players card? Which year will play and how do I set it? Does it just jump from year to year? I* am lost on this new game. Please help me out.

You might be talking about the mystery card game. If that's the game you have joined, then you do not get to know which card is in play. You try to figure out during the season which cards you have. The 70's, 80,s and 90,s games are all mystery card games and have a forum to help explain how it works.
