Robbie Alomar

They say crazy is repeating the same crazy move over and over despite the negative outcome. Yet I continue to draft Robbie Alomar , probably as much as anyone else who plays this game and he never, never, never plays close to his card. Each version plays like a 3.50m second basemen. Why do think next time he may be better, I must be crazy. Bill

You aren't alone. I've never had him perform to his card yet I continue to draft him on the hope that finally he'll perform.

Tecnically, the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

But I digress .... I jumped off the Robbie Alomar train a while back, just like you said, NEVER plays up to his card even in Forbes '57 which is saying something.

I have the same problem with Henderson, never hits well and gets caught stealing more than is worth it...
Then there's the dilemma that my head tells me he should bat 8th but my heart can't put him anywhere else but leadoff.

Henderson has been a little better for me than Alomar, he's kind of hit or miss. I have the $6.96 (or close to that) card going right now and he's having a pretty nice season.

It does amaze me when a guy with a 20-16 steal rating is only hitting a 60% success rate .....

I still say there is something "broken" on that card's steal rating. I've written to support about it, but never a response. I usually always get a response from Strat, but not on this matter for some reason.

Regarding Henderson and stolen base % I have long said with the strat stealing model success percentage is meaningless.

Think about it you check the lead and if jump is good and chances are better than whatever your risk threshold is then you go and if not you stay. So great base stealers will not have a higher percentage than average stealers and catchers like Pudge will not necessarily throw out a higher percentage.

With the strat stealing model only thing really impacted is how many attempts will be made.

For ATG except for low cap leagues you have to also remember almost every team is going to have a -3 or better catcher.
