D2D 2018 FA Draft ---Time slots posted! check in....

Here is an issue, I was just about to post Infante. But, 3 people picked an hour early (at least).

Just pointing this out. Fine with how it is but both Paul and Heekin picked an hour or more before their slot came up. Please wait for your time

The time listed is the "end time" and not the beginning. So you may post your pick at 8:01 pm if your time is listed at 9 pm. and Paul made his pick in the safe 8:01+ hour. He was good. heekin went before his time because the person before him (Paul) had posted. That makes it a good pick - regardless of what time it is. That's how I understand it.

This is never how it has worked in any draft ever with time slots. You picked at 9:01 p.m. for a 10 p.m time slot. That's just ridiculous. So my actual time was 6:01-6:59 despite it being posted as 7. How does that make sense? Time slots go from 7-8 p.m. when they are posted for that time. How do I know that because I was one of the ones that initially came up with them for the TKL 24 team keeper leagues I started. (the other 2 24 team keeper leagues). But, sure.

That may be (for other leagues). But this is how it has worked in EVERY draft we have had that I have been commish for.

and that's why I stated it as soon as we started the time clock for this draft (on page 5) and sent email explaining it as well.


***and I'm TOTALLY in favor of getting rid of the time slot concept and just having a 2-hour clock*** but last time that was proposed in discussion it was shot down due to 1 member being overseas and another travelling at the time. Definitely can be brought back up for a vote if needed. Especially since time slotting tends to actually SLOW down the draft if people don't pick when the person in front of them does and instead wait for their slot.

Also time slots are going slow because we do 12 per day vs. 24 here like that other 24 team leagues. If we post only 12 per day, then yes, a 2 hour window would be faster. 24? Time Slots are much faster. Heck, the Original 24-team keeper is done drafting.

so make a rule proposal....just quickly checked a few that have "time slots" in their thread title and they both went 9am-11pm or 10-10. a 24-hour time slot seems interesting but would require a 3am Pick (might be some opposition to that)

No, No, the picks are 1/2-hour windows. Not one hour. Same 12 hours. 10 am EST - 10 pm EST. But, this is the draft thread. We can discuss it further in the chat.

would love to change what we currently have. so please make a proposal for future. also, on google doc I have slots listed as 9-10, 10-11, 11-noon.....so that you can see your end time before being skipped. I only post end time on this thread to save room.

yes....these are the times shown on the google doc....only the END time has been listed here to save time....I can post it like this from here out if it's needed.
