Yeah, knowing Castillo would be gone, I was debating between Hoskins and Olson, neither of them needed for the upcoming season, so went with who I consider the better long term player as opposed to who had the better card. In hindsight, I probably should have just kept Devers, who I believe will be a better long term player than Hoskins. Sometimes, the rush of an offseason trade in the middle of a cold winter gets the best of me.
Ironic that I was just thinking to myself whether or not I should have traded my #2 overall pick for Devers/Tapia/Willy Adames. I was thinking I wanted to get young, but with Olson available at #2, I was second-guessing myself. Olson is on pace to pounding 70 or more HRs in some leagues (I have him in 4 leagues). He is a devastating force out there!! Don't know if Adames or Tapia will amount to anything.
I also traded away my #2 overall prospect for Taijuan Walker. Another mystery on how a trade will work out!
Oh yeah, I traded Kiermaier for AJ Reed/Dansby Swanson/Carlos Rodon.
I suppose I was busy this off-season.
Jury is out that any of this will work out![/quote
I truly believe Devers will be a superstar, Adames a star at worse, and Tapia? Well, he "should" be a star, but is being blocked. He needs a new team where he can blossom. Honestly, I am stunned how Hoskins is continuing to do well. Ryan and I have had numerous discussions about him, and he can confirm I thought little about the long term prospects of both he and Olson. In 2 years or less, Devers will prove to be the best player in our deal.
