Can I have Jose "Chico" Lind instead? At least he was a 1 in the infield. Couldn't hit a lick, but great glove man.

Yeah, Lind had a lot more value. At least Lind batted over .250 in his lifetime so the Pirates felt Ok playing him every day for his slick glove. I think Mendoza was a '2' back in the day.It's funny that legend says that he was a career even .200 hitter. However, when looking up his numbers, he actually had a "robust" .215 career batting average.

Poor Mario.
