New Players: Model of Skill Acquisition

Organized theme leagues may be conditional, but they are still theme leagues. Individual theme leagues are also conditional to the idea/themes they apply to themselves. And J-Pav may have provided "templates" or "blueprints," but that doesn't make all of the leagues he listed theme leagues. Non-theme leagues have templates and blueprints, too. That isn't enough to make them theme leagues.

So, the separation I mentioned in my previous post still separates theme leagues from non-theme leagues with particular approaches.

I'm willing to discuss this further, but I think we should let J-Pav get back to his Competent Player analysis.

Well, our Advanced Beginner manager has read the boards. He wasn't aware the STAR tournament drafts had different rules regarding injuries, and while he was excited about the prospects for the team he drafted, the high injury ratings of so many players gave pause.

Back to the drawing board, this manager decided to reduce the injury consequences and "lengthen" the lineup. That is, the salary construction was changed from $9-8-7-6 etc to something more like $6-6-6-5-5-5-4-4-4, while still maintaining the original theme of drafting players favored by the STAR tournament managers. There are still a few injury risks out there, but the manager likes the value he's getting in return for that risk.

If there was a better option available at 3B, I would likely go Drew at SS with the $5-6 3B guy. However, Tulo is a strong player at a position which generates little offense, and with no one left at the higher price range for third, the Tulo-Lemahieu combo will have to do for now.

We'll see...

using the hal pitcher settings...2 stud relieves one set as middle man and setup and the other as set up and closer..and then flip flop them by series if anyone was tired....you can get in practice two really stud starters...
