I'm half awake so unsure if I've thought this thru but is there any way we could load all of our 16 keepers and round out roster with our franchise members, auto draft and then begin our supplemental....I never got the spreadsheet that was mentioned so just trying to think of a way that would make it easier to see whose available after we announce keepers.

I'll send you the spreadsheet BUT I don't think what you just asked is possible.

Most GMs did not bring the majority of the 16 keepers "up" to their 28 man roster. If you want to see who is available, you can go back to Free agents from season A and then look to see if they are anyone's KEEPERS.

The spreadsheet has all of the picks from season A and the keepers from season B are on a separate tab. I will also add in the 10 picks from the draft, as we go thru.

it's a timing thing I guess, if everyone included their 16, then allowed us a short period of time to review the free agent list, and then in between auto draft and start of season people can make their adjustments....I'm just having nightmares of how long this process can take especially in the middle of summer when people may be away.

I like your idea, Jay. The best thing schedule-wise would be to run the autodraft after the Friday night deadline, as soon thereafter as we can, and do it as a frenzy, so we would have an entire week to do the FA draft and set our opening day rosters. It would be made even more helpful if owners would add their additional FA’s to their rosters as they draft them.

The draft itself is only 6 rounds, the order doesn’t change, and we’ll impose a clock, so there’s no reason we won’t be able to complete it in more than 2-3 days.

OFF-SEASON TRADE?

The Nats are shopping SS Jose Iglesias and possibly 1B Jose Abreu, and are looking for a SP. At a minimum mid-level $3MM -ish, with a decent or better looking current card.
