Guys I am very sorry for the delay. Work and vacation crept up on me quicker than I expected. I have the google ready with all cuts completed. Please take a look and make sure that your roster is correct. I believe we are all ready to get this draft started and completed ASAP. But, I am having one little issue. How the draft order should be considering we had 4 teams tied with 81 wins. Using head to head looks a little confusing to me. Could someone lend a hand and figuring it out?
I take it you mean for the teams with 78-84 records in season 1?
We should probably use head to head as the initial tie breaker since that is what is in the rules. It breaks down as follows in a 4 way matrix:
Mr. BBW 32-28 Ninersphan 32-28 Sociophil 29-31 Paul_Long71 15-21
Then just use run differential (this is not in the rules, but is a pretty standard tie breaker). The run differnetials break down as follows:
Mr. BBW: +30 Ninersphan: -36
so the order for these 4 teams would be:
Paul_Long71 sociophil Ninersphan Mr. BBW
Please someone check my math and everyone weigh in if this tie breaking method is acceptable. We should probably add it (or something else) to the rules.
Yes, you are correct about it being the 78 win teams. I was looking at head to head, but I was not looking at as the total record of the 4 team matrix. I was trying to look at each team head to head, which was way to complex and complicated. If everyone is ok with using the total record of head to head between the four teams, then that is what we will use.
Ok. I am going to get everything wrapped up to get the draft started, using the cumulative head to head record between the 4 teams. I will also try and get an available players list done later tonight.
I thought in more than a 2-way tie, it went to run differential. That head-to-head was used only to break ties between 2 teams. But if we are going with straight records between only those 4 teams, then what I have posted is accurate. I think the earlier records used Brocton instead of Boston in one series.
For me (just me) the rules states head to head, so my vote would be different than either of those 2 cases.
I look at each series as either won or loss. Exmaple: Paul_long lost 5-7 to niners overall, lost to sociophil 5-7 over all and won to MRBBW 7-2. That's a 1-2 record. In those ties, use individual tie breaker. If that was the case then it would be:
MRBBW (1-2 in H2h, loss the paul) Paul_long (1-2 in H2H, won 7-2 vs MRBBW) niners (2-1, lost to sociophil 11-13) sociophil
But I'm probably making things more confusing that way... lol
